I've been adding missing art for a few covers. There are some (the new Lloth single being an example) that genuinelly do not have an art, or were never assigned any.

Can we design a placeholder for "no official artwork" rather than leaving it on the list as "needing a cover"? This bugs the hell out of me and my OCD - especially as members will waste a lot of time to no avail.

I won't mind designing one if this has been approved.

Pre-empting the likely concerns by the staff, the only real issue is being able to PROVE legitimately that there is no art. Otherwise people will just flood the affected releases with said idea to whore points.

Yeah, don't see this really happening. As stated, it could open up a whole can of worms with the point whoring, and there isn't exactly a huge positive payoff from an encyclopedic point of view to offset this..

Fair enough, it's just a pain to have people looking for art that doesn't exist, haha. In the case of the Lloth single then, where there is no art, if there is a picture used to go with the promo, are we allowed to upload that?

What do you mean "a picture to go with the promo?" You mean like using a placeholder image of the band's logo or something? Because that is absolutely not OK. It has to be a cover art specific to that release.

If there is no art, feel free to make a note of it in the album version's "additional notes."
