Hi guys!

I'm looking for bands like Chthonic. To be more exact,i'm looking a band, which is:
-Asian
-Sypmhonic black metal(or symph. death)
-plays on a folk musical instrument, like erhu.
Under 'Asian' i mostly mean far-east:Japan,Korea,China,Taiwan,Hong,Kong,etc...

THANKS in advance!

Hey,

You might want to give Screaming Savior a try: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zqIsYhYZpEA

Similar sounding to Chthonic, please also try Anthelion
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hiiAwYgDGps

For pure awesomeness (is that even a word?) one of my favourite ever Chinese bands, Terminal Lost:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FhXiD81qs6k although they do actually venture into melodic BM, but they are definitely worth a listen!

Hah, if you do want more recommendations from that side of the world in particular bands using folk/traditional instruments - but not necessarily symph BM - then drop me a message any time.

Darkestrah is gonna be your new favourite band. True Silk Road Black Metal

But really, they are superb - a plethora of symphonics, lots of folk influences, 110% EPIC!, one of the best vocalists in black metal, and a large discography to bite your teeth into. Please do search them out.

Oh! Also Tengger Cavalry, they're black metal with traditional throat singing. They are great as well.

Kalpa from South Korea

They had two songs from a split and the last song on their full-length that were more synth & folk black metal.
