I've learned recently that I love the feeling of horror. I've also learned I love it even more in my music. Recently, I've been looking for the absolute creepiest songs I could find, and I decided to ask all of you what are some of the creepiest songs you can think of. So, how about it? It'd also be nice to find some other people who feel the same about extremely creepy music.

For me, it would be either De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas or Yhdarl's orchestral version of "Ave Maria."

For me it has to be Impavida from Germany. A suicidal/depressive black metal band.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3_IBi2bSTtE

Another worthy mention, maybe not in creepy sense but moreso a primal, frantic anger sense would be Vulcano from Brazil. They're a Death/Thrash metal band in the vein of Sarcofago and early Sepultura.

Two things come to mind. One, Khanate: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eNGwLTPEhyA
Two, the Gregorian chant of "Dies Irae": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dlr90NLD ... re=related

That choir thing that plays in 2001: A Space Odyssey scared the shit out of me when I watched it. To be fair, I was at home alone, but it was also only a few months ago that I watched it.

Scott Walker - The Drift

I've heard a lot of creepy things in my life, but that... That blows everything out of the water.

The albums by Catacombs and Winter come to mind when reading the OP, absolutely claustrophobic and spine-chilling records.

How about Jarboe's "A Sea Of Blood And Hollow Screaming"? I fuckin' love this track and since I first heard this I've not come across anything similar.

John Bergin's Music for Hammering is some pretty creepy industrial/ambient. I always liked the song "The Room of Ice".

Wormphlegm immediately gave me a creepy vibe while still being heavy as all fuck.

A lot of Negative Plane's songs have a creepy vibe that sounds like it's coming from a cathedral.

Dead Skin Mask by Slayer is incredibly creepy in parts; for example Tom's spoken word in the beginning, the way the intro/chorus/outro riff weaves around the vocals, the samples of the girl begging, then crying out and then screaming for help at the end.

Some funeral doom bands really have creepy tunes. Other than that Immolation - Close to a World Below always does it for me.

I could recommend my own project called SEKT. Maybe something that you could find appealing if you like disturbing atmosphere.
Here's a song from the demo cassette "Unhealthcare": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TkqUg8vabOs
If you like it I think there are still some copies left. It's limited to 100 copies.

Leviathan "tentacles of whorror" comes to mind. Also try the axis of perdition, their music was originally inspired by the Silent Hill video games

Perfect list. Haven't heard the Slayer, but kudos to that list as a whole.

Also, Gallileous- Pasio et Mors. Creepy ass funeral doom.

that one and the other album they did with Thomas Ligotti are brilliantly unsettling. Dogs Blood Rising, hell, most of the
C93 albums are quite unsettling.

I realize this is a metal forum and all, but I'd have to mention if you're interested in soundtracks.. the movie Contagion that came out a couple months ago has the coolest and creepiest soundtrack, an aura of utter creepy paranoia; good shit. The best from what I remember..

This. Needs to played at absolute maximum volume for the best effect though. Walker = God.

Michael Gira's Drainlands project really unsettles me too.

Maybe something from Catacombs - In the Depths of R'lyeh. You want to have a swell night? Turn of all the lights, put on your 200 dollar headphones, hit play, and let the fun begin.

The night I met my ex, I recited the lyrics to 213 to her while we were on ecstasy, sitting on her roof. She must've liked them, we were together for almost 3 years after that
