Is anyone else aware of solos that are similar to these ones? The formula is generally: a build-up, and then a playing of a lot of notes. It's tough to describe, but here are two examples:

Animist - Here Our Highest Good Is Pleasure
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LE1kPwuuB90&t=2m49s
2:49 - 2:58

The Black Dahlia Murder - Everything Went Black
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V6B-q0eiRYs&t=2m00s
2:00 - 2:10

I don't know if these have a name, but if any more exist, I would be extremely grateful!

These are very good! My favourite from this list, though, had to be The Enigma of Torments. That is one hell of a song :D Still open to any other ideas (you may have!) :)

Glad to help man :)

You should take a listen to whole albums by those bands, especially Archons and Anterior's debut, "Undoing Ruin" and "Deliver Us" by Darkest Hour and Arsis first couple of records, including the masterpiece that is their A Diamond for Disease EP.

Others that came to mind:

Enfold Darkness - In the Galleries of the Utmost Evil

Obscura - Anticosmic Overload

Degradead - All is Gone

Also, this one may have a bunch of notes, but is one of my favorites solos of all time.

Man Must Die - It Comes in Threes
