I love Naglfar's sound, IMO it's the perfect synchronization of the "melodic" and the "black metal". When ever I listen to one of their albums, it brings to my mind some kind of other-worldly evil that's so pure in it's darkness that it's name cannot be heard by human ears and a name unpronounceable to human tongue, epic and unfailing, like something out of H.P. Lovecraft.

I guess what I'm really looking for is more melodic black metal like Naglfar, songs with great solos that aren't over-saturated by keyboards or other symphonic shit.

Can you help me out?

Early Arckanum is reminiscent of Naglfar, though a bit more, dare I say, woodsy? And less cosmic horror psychotic but more ancient and mystical. Not quite the same mood, but I believe it will appeal to you.

Dawn - Slaughtersun. An unacknowledged classic.

The obvious answer would be Dissection's first two albums. But those albums can't be praised and recommended enough to do them justice so I'll stop recommending those albums over my cold, frostbitten corpse. Also, try Sacramentum - Far Away From The Sun. Very similar to the Dissection albums but not as well-know I guess.

Hmm, early Naglfar resembles Sacramentum and Dissection, but the latter stuff is a bit darker...You could have a listen to Dark Fortress, maybe Enthroned....
