I know this might be in the wrong forum, but what they hey, I'll give it a shot.

I found this song a while ago, and I really enjoy it. It has that classic California kind of a vibe that is extremely relaxing and organic. The songwriting is progressive in the literal sense of the word, with no verse-chorus structure. The guitar work is interesting to me because the parts are effortlessly simple at times with cool guitar leads like the outro that are tremolo picked. However, I have had little luck with finding other alternative music that features this adept musicianship and songwriting. Help?

Well, seeing as no one else has responded, I'm going to give you something that may be a long shot, but something's better than nothing, right? The song you posted reminded me a little of US alt-rock band The Convocation Of.... They might be a bit noisier in places than you're after, but worth checking out, especially their 2nd album "Pyramid Technology". This is the only YT vid I could find:

That was actually pretty cool. The vocals are not particularly my thing, but the instrumental was really organic and intricate. Thanks!
For further reference, perhaps something along these lines: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cIw1Nqm7dLg
I know that is a bit more hardcore oriented, but it's still pretty infectious and alternative-y.

The last three Thought Industry albums (especially Short Wave for a Cold Day which falls pretty close sound/aesthetic-wise as well) might work; some songs are a bit more verse-chorus but since you posted that second song I think they might work. You probably already know Failure, but if not the highlights of Fantastic Planet (the less standard and grungey songs) might fit too. Levitation is maybe a little closer to a psychedelic sound overall and aren't always as up-tempo as the song I gave, but their songs are definitely more elaborate than average and there is some really gorgeous guitar work to be found.

Both Crystal Antlers and The Convocation Of... are completely unfamiliar to me, but I'm liking both songs a lot. :)
