This album is fucking awesome, is there any other progressive/technical metal like it?

Last.FM has this tagged as Math Metal, but this album itself is all instrumental. So, its not like any mathcore band that it could be compared to. I don't mind vocals, but they have to be really good, unlike Dream Theater.

Great rec, you can download their whole discography for free on their website: http://sites.google.com/site/cloudkickeruk2/

Also, check out Blotted Science - The Machinations of Dementia. Very technical, great production, lots of good riffage, instrumental as well, fits your request perfectly.

I also enjoyed Electro Quarterstaff - Gretzky and Trephine s/t. Not very known bands, but they're worth your time trust me.

Hope you find some interest in these bands, I think you will thought.

Math metal and math rock are not the same as mathcore. That being said, You Slut! and Giraffes? Giraffes! are excellent instrumental math rock bands

Haha, a thread on my specialty. One word. Djent.

Periphery S/T

Textures - Silhouttes and Drawing Circles

Chimp Spanner - At the Dreams Edge

Very fusiony, but the same kind of guitar virtuousity and musical stylings.

Try S.S.H., but not his remixes, his original stuff.

He has an awesome song called 'Merciless Goddess' but it isn't on YouTube. ):

Seriously this guy was my first metal band [band isn't the right word to use, but oh well] besides Rob Zombie and is still my favorite.

Came in to recommend this. Also, if you like BS, check out Ron Jarzombek's solo stuff, especially Theoretically Speaking....

I can't find these albums anywhere, Soulseek doesn't have that Chimp Spanner album.
