I've been wanting to listen to some beautiful slow gothic doom metal, something similar to The Gathering's Mandylion or some old Tristania stuff, can't seem to find any at the moment, so any recommendations would be appreciated.

Saturnus probably fit this request. Check out the album "Paradises Belongs To You" in particular, for some truly beautiful doom

As soon as I read the topic, that's what I thought of.
I would suggest some of Moi dix Mois' stuff. It's kind of hit-and-miss, but try their song, Xanadu.

How Like a Winter's '... Beyond My Grey Wake' isn't exactly haunting, but its a great representative of the doom/gothic hybrid.

The Foreshadowing - Days of Nothing

The title of this thread describes them so well I was certain you were going to mention them in the OP.

I love this album/band.

Lake of Sorrow by The Sins of Thy Beloved and Fragile Moments by Tales of Dark. I'll second My Dying Bride, How Like A Winter and Virgin Black too.

Poisonblack.

PoisonBlack are a good Gothic metal band, but they dont play Doom. I would recommend:

Draconian - any album
Empyrium - not quite Doom, but i think you would enjoy them.
Funeral - Tragedies up to In Fields of Pestilent Grief.
Paradise Lost - you might like Gothic or Lost Paradise.

Draconian - The Closed Eyes of Paradise, and Arcane Rain Fell - obviously seconded.

Estatic Fear - Somnium Obnutum and A Sombre Dance

The Foreshadowing - Days of Nothing - also seconded

and I haven't actually realized I was so low on music in this genre, darn. :O

This might be too Atmospheric, but The 3rd and the Mortal are really realy good. Hell, Tears Laid in Earth is one of the Best albums ever made in my opinion. Kari's vocals are awesome and unbelievably beautiful especially in the song "Salva Me."
