Ooooh I'm have to get those jams!

I made a Soundcloud page for my scratch guitar tracks and rough song ideas. These are the two songs I'm working on for the grindcore thing I want to do. I used the voice recorder on my phone for these, but I'm actually sort of enjoying the tone I got! Setup is guitar --> TT-3 distortion --> amp. Any feedback on these would be awesome, let me know how shitty this is!

I'm not quitting my day job just yet

sounds like they would be some good songs.

the tone still needs to actually be cleaned up a good bit, a bit too much of the white noise haze going on that really kinda zaps out any definition you have to the riffs. it's like listening to them being played through a tiny speaker. You know something is good there you just can't pick it out as much. But hell looking forward to seeing these as a completed project for ya.

and glad you enjoyed the KP stuff too!

Oh yeah, definitely needs cleaning up a bit. Like I said, I just turned the voice recorder on my phone and set it on the floor right in front of my cab. I hope to properly record this stuff pretty soon, and hopefully it turns out fairly decent! Thanks for the feedback, I really appreciate it!

Yea I'm actually shocked out well it turned out just using your phone. almost makes me want to hit up the guy I'm jamming with in Australia to use that instead of what he currently had been. But we are already to the point of vocals so I hope it all turns out nicely enough that some people here might dig to it.

Me too, haha. I was mostly just trying to get it to where you couldn't hear me in the background actually strumming the strings, and it turned out even better.

I can hear the strumming a bit but overall it's pretty good.

Show went fantastic besides some personal things that happened to me that day. Recording is going to be released soon and I'll make sure to link you guys soon.

While not really grindcore, this band called Foiled is amazing! Bandcamp is right here for fans of tr00 powerviolence. Going to be doing a 6 way flexi split with these guys hopefully. Going to be tight.

They are alright, I only listened to the first release they have linked up. too much white noise in their stuff. It kinda just zaps it of any energy for me and takes away of any of the bass playing/riffs that are going on. it's not interesting noise they have going on in it, just extra noise for extra noise.

Hmm, what all have you heard that you've liked from this year?

The only grind full lengths I keep up with are my own. Any others that come out are usually a pleasant surprise to me. I think the only two I know of is that new noisear which might have been last year and that new PLF which might have been last year as well. I have no clue.

Yeah that new PLF is a 2013 release. Other than that, I don't think I've listened to a full-length grindcore album from this year...

M.D.F.L. rules! Been jamming their "Esoteric Assault" tape pretty frequently since I got it last month. Hilarious to find out that they played a gig at an Applebee's not too long ago...I love bands like this, and am a little jealous that you get to see/play with them! I'll have to pull some strings and try to get them down here to play, or ride out to see them if they ever come any closer.

Also, for goregrind, you guys check this band out. You don't hear too many goregrind bands that have a big crust/d-beat edge to them.

Yeah, I wasn't impressed with the new Hatred Surge at all. Pretty inoffensive stuff that is done better by other bands.

For anyone who's starved for some new grindviolence, like I am, this is probably worth checking out (Australia!) : http://fleshpolice.bandcamp.com/

Not groundbreaking or anything, but enjoyable. And yeah the new Hatred Surge, like I've said before is pretty unexciting and way too Mammoth Grinder-ish.

that is the first time I heard anyone use the made up term grindviolence. what the hell is wrong with saying PV/grind? So not only do I cringe, I get goddamn angry.

all genre names are fucking dumb, might as well let the lyricists play with them all and create "stargazing fistfucker violence." power violence is just as stupid as grind violence. as long as the bands themselves aren't giving it the name (zero tolerance).

since seeing righteous pigs at MDF i can't stop listening to them. anyone know of anything similar to "stress Related?" super moshy grindcore? from the 80's maybe a dose of crossover?

p.s. Caper's a badass.

Oh, and while I was cringing at the word "grindviolence", I totally skipped that link and just saw that it was for Flesh Police's bandcamp. Solid band! I actually hit one of the dudes up for a tape a few weeks ago, and I told him to tell the dudes in Internal Rot to get to gettin' on that LP.

Jeezus you lot are a buncha nitpicky ornery assholes, haha. Yes I said "grindviolence," get angry about it. Blame In Disgust. Like FM said, most genre names are stupid anyway, deathgrind, thrashcore, powercore, who cares. If it gives you can idea of what it sounds like then it does its job.

Forgot this as well. This is last year, but still good shit. http://rapturousgrief.bandcamp.com/

NITPICKY ORNERY ASSHOLES, UNITE! And Rapturous Grief is pretty good! I remember first checking them out because of the possibility of the name being a Gorguts reference.

Been hitting The Endless Blockade a lot recently. On paper there are a million bands similar, but for anyone who knows the band well, any recs that I might've missed? (big names are known, as well as Column of Heaven).

only one that I've heard of and makes sense is deathgrind, that's been around for ages and ages and actually recalls a specific thing. The other two you listed sounds like bullshit. yes we are nitpick and orney assholes. if you don't like it you could always just leave.

Bout to have 2 eps uploaded today.

As a term and genre, thrashcore is actually older than deathgrind by about half a decade - it also refers to a pretty specific style (arguably too specific, given how limited it is).
