I would suggest Temple of Void, Hesper Payne, Druid Lord and obviously Runemagick. All excellent doom/death. Maybe Mourning Beloveth too but they're a bit less riffy than the bands you mentioned

I am just throwing this recommendation to no one in particular.

There is a band called Indesinence. Great stuff.

Thanks I liked Temple of Void and Runemagick was fantastic. I will check out the rest too.

I'm not quite sure if it belongs here, but I'm looking for metal similar to Down, COC, Hell Camino and Alabama Thunderpussy, I know they're classed as "Southern Metal" here but I've also seen them referred to as doom/stoner and sludge before

I was wondering which bands to look into if I want to listen to something like DOOM:VS or Mournful Congregation. Defnitely should fall withn the genre of doom metal. I'm quite new so most bands will be unknown to me. I really liked Thergothon, Doom:VS, Mournful congregation rocks, also the Wounded Kings.

Right now I'm listening to Worship and that's pretty decent as well.

I don't see what you're after precisely, as those bands sound rather different. Doom:vs are melodic doom, Worship are bleak FD, MC are melodic FD, Thergothon are raw and slow Death Doom and tWK could be described as liturgical Stoner Doom.... What you need is to do your own exploration.

Any bands with similar riffs to Toner Low as well as an equivalent or greater emphasis on bass, but with more melodic vocals?

Edit: i'm still listening to Toner Low for the first time, and I'm only on their debut, so it might be their vocals get more melodic on future releases. Even on the debut, the vocals on their song "Murphy" for example are a lot more melodic than the previous songs, and I'd settle for more like that.

Could anybody recommend me a band in the vein of Magus? I loved "Ruminations of Debauchery" and would love to hear more in that vein, where it can transition from blasting brutal death metal to almost dirge-like funeral doom?

I'm looking for black funeral doom or funeral doom metal bands that have heavy use of ambience in their music. Bands like Nortt and Mistress Of The Dead are good examples of what I'm looking for.

Nortt -

Mistress Of The Dead -

You may like Void of Silence's Human Anthithesis, they are very influenced by dark ambient and have a lot of atmospheric sections in their massive songs

Elysian Blaze's Levitating the Carnal hits this directly on the head. Super dreary stuff, slow, and really loves that grand piano.

Haha, as you can see from my signature, I'm a pretty big fan of Elysian Blaze. I've listened to that album quite a bit. Although, it doesn't quite fit what I'm looking for in terms of my examples, but it's still a great album regardless. Still, Blood Geometry will always be his best.

Could you be a little more specific? They have a decent size discography. And they're not even listed as a black/funeral doom metal band.

Oh, whoops. Didn't realize you were that guy when reading this request.

Other than that, all I have is a couple of Blood of the Black Owl songs, but the guitar is much more emphasized so they might not be what you're looking for.

There's also the entirety of their third album A Banishing Ritual, but that's less metal and more just straight up ritual ambient.

More on the black/ambient/drone side rather than doom, but worth it.

I'm in a need for some stoner bands with quite melancholic melodies. Any ideas?

You have to check out an album called Lore by a band named Elder. You also can't go wrong with Electric Wizard's Black Masses and Witchcult Today.

I'm a big fan of traditional doom, so i recommend the bands Dawn of Winter, Fallen Idol, Dirty Grave, The Temple and Mirror of Deception. They are the ones i'm listening to the most.

Anybody who got some recommendations for bands with Reverend Bizarre vibe? Mostly like the slow songs that have the really gloomy atmosphere like Eternal Forest or Cirith Ungol.
I would prefer trad doom since it was somewhat hard to find for me (pretty new to the genre tho) with all the stoner/doom and sludgy bands around. Also not the biggest fan of overly melodic and epic doom. Felt kinda hard to find bands like RB for me.
