So shuffle just hit me with "Death In Fire" whilst working out today and it reminded me that albums such as VS The World, With Oden On Our Side were once stuff I really enjoyed.
Yes, even at their best, they were borderline guilty pleasure (as I am not a huge fan of melody in my death metal) but damn, those albums were enjoyable with chunky riffs, solid musicianship and memorable songs.
Modern AA tho is just... eh... Might as well listen to Sabaton!! :puke:

So, are there any modern bands that somehow scratch the itch for upbeat, melodic yet still heavy / aggressive enough to deserve the death metal tag as AA once did?
