Does anyone know if there is even such a thing?

There are a bunch of bands that use fantasy books as inspiration but I really can't think of a single one that used the JK Rowling fantasy world as such.

Much appreciated if anyone actually can come up with a recommend for this one.

Not the most metal theme i can think off, but challenge accepted

the site lists four bands with "Harry Potter" as lyrical theme: Elzevir, Muggle Death Camp, Voldemort and Grimgotts. You may want to start with them!

For the record, all of those bands are terrible.

Thx. I honestly didn't think there was such a thing but figured it was worth asking arround just to be sure.

I'll give those a try. I don't care how bad it is, as long as the music serves it's purpose I'm good.

Man, when you said it was bad i thought something like cheesy bad not unlistenable bad

Grimgotts might serve the purpose and it's not as bad as that, some good moments here and there

all others suck big time with Voldemort being a front runner for worst band ever

Don't take me wrong. I'm grateful for the recommends.

You can't just make these claims without posting songs or music videos. I gotta imagine the music videos would be absolutely horrific

fair enough

voldemort - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K890QPJMUF8

elzevir - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tj4NkjFhCN0 (ok, calling this unlistenable might be harsh, still not something i would recommend to anyone)

Muggle Death Camp - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HuMdDVLIVKU

sadly no videos, or at least none i could find, perhaps someone else has an hidden gem somewhere

After about 15 minutes of searching I have to conclude there isn't much Harry Potter-themed metal. Most of the stuff I found has already been posted so I'll just give you the link to a song titled "TITS!... or Azkaban!" by the grind band Wizards of Gore.

Choose wisely!

In all seriousness though, how on earth could anyone expect a HP-themed band to possess any musical value? Should we give Smurfs- or Pokemon-metal an openminded try next? For all I care, groups relying on Tolkien have been cringy enough. Somehow tragically on top of that sits when their music actually clearly does not depend on such lame backgrounds (see many second wave black metal bands).

^ I'm sure though that if the Harry Potter series hadn't been turned into movies there would be more bands with lyrics based on its lore.

Given the amount of bands that make good music and whose lyrics suck big time, don't really see a problem.

Granted HP is not my thing and usually i wouldn't care for such lyrics, but I also don't reject music right away just because of the lyrical inclination of the band, even the most boring subjects can be approached with quality, depends on how good the writer is.
