Many metal bands always favor winter, winter could be too pale and fucking boring. I love the feel of the summer especially blasting metal loud while driving like a fucking maniac. And yeah, I need that now.

So, could anyone recommend me bands or songs with that sensational and fresh sounding summer-y kick to them? That'd much appreciated. :D

A subjective request but I tend to listen to a lot of NWOBHM/Epic Metal, 80's thrash or plain old heavy metal for a kickass summer soundtrack. I discovered Devil's Dare about a year ago, and I really dig their laidback, rocking sound.

Also, this may sound odd but Suicidal Tendencie's 'HWILTWICEST' is another favorite "summer" album of mine. Maybe its Rocky George's bluesy soloing style or the band's sunny photoshoot for the album cover but I personally associate a lot with this time of the year.

Other albums you might like

Christian Mistress - Possession
Ecstatic Vision - Sonic Praise
Manilla Road - Crystal Logic

In my subjective manner:

Paradise Lost - One Second
Moonspell - Sin Pecado
Samael - Reign of Light
Lake of Tears - Moons and Mushrooms
Tiamat - Prey & Judas Christ
Soilwork - Natural Born Chaos
In Flames - Clayman
Entombed - Uprising
Fear Factory - Digimortal

...and the winner....

RUSH - Roll the bones

OP, I think "summery" comes second in your priority list and only after "music to drive around to". With that impression being out there, I shall recommend Panzer Division Marduk, simply because right when that one came out, my as-of-then friends and I were on a vast road trip through a neighbouring country and threw puns around all the time that put "Panzer Division (...)" at the beginning of whatever we happened to be babbling about (e.g. "P.D. grocery shopping", "P.D. traffic light"...you get the idea).

Nothing says driving around like The Night Flight Orchestra! They're not metal though.

Don't mind the lyrics, but the music is quite fun

This is a whole lot subjective, but there's one particularly brilliant album that always invoked a summery feel. Actually, it kind of feels like late August or early September, just before the first signs of the approaching autumn. It's Disillusion's Back to the Times of Splendor, and it is splendid indeed. Think of ambitious and creative songwriting which is similar to Opeth's (miles and miles better IMO) with a good dose of ballsy riffs. It's more introspective than that image of blasting metal while driving.

Rotting Christ - Sleep of the Angel's, definitely more mlwarm sounding Greek metal that fits summer weather.

Mokoma's 'Hei Hei Heinäkuu', even though it say goodbye to July... Sung in Finnish, but look at those balls!

The Hounds Of Hasslevander "Ancient Rocks". Pretty much spent all of last summer driving to this. It rocks like old Manilla Road and Pentagram at their rockingist.
