I'm grown kind of tired over the years by looking for proper Industrial Metal, meaning: no cyber, no gothic, no techno, no electronics and bullshit as such. Let's focus on pure, aggressive, rough and well made Industrial Metal.
Like, say, Dead World, Deflore, Godflesh, first Ministry offerings, first Pitchshifter album, Mysticum, Dødheimsgard, Skrew, Red Harvest, Thorns, The Axis of Perdition, Diabolicum, Dee N Dee, and even Kill ThenThrill and mid O.L.D. for added value.

So I've made a Spotify and Google Play Music playlist where I tried to avoid happy sounding "Industrial" bands.
If you're not using any of these services, think of these as a list of artists and albums that are doing justice to Industrial.

To get there I dug through "Industrial Metal" tag here, on Last FM and Rate your music.
This yielded a list of 2k+ albums to search for in Spotify and GPM catalogues. These catalogues are not complete of course, and entire worthwhile artists could go under my radar. This needs yo be fixed!
Thus I could miss a gem or ten from bands that managed to releasea cool demo or EP, or and album not represented in both streaming services.

So, please have a look at the playlist of choice and maybe you'll find something I've missed to suggest, because I cannot be the only one utterly disliking the trend of the "Industrial" tag being abused, - when your searches return happy dancing cybermorons instead of grim and rustbitten mechanics.

Playlist on Google is more consolidated and tight because of the size limit of playlist: 1k, and it being my main service. Thus GPM playlist could be the definitive one. + Google seems to have more proper Metal in general.

Spotify has 10k limit, thus playlist there has unfiltered intros/outros/fillers and weaker albums.

Thanks, Damballah, but Abigor won't make this list - I'm looking for something more pronounced than an undertone here and there. It should be Industrial in its core!

General Winter is my favourite, it's an absolute shame that they've disappeared like that; I've had some news of them from another Spanish Doom band, telling me that there was actually no news! I don't know what has become of them.

N17 were the best.

The Japanese band Zeni Geva. If you like Godflesh this band is not to be missed. Very similar to and influenced by SWANS.
