Hey everybody. \m/

I'm currently building a playlist of metal songs that are as the thread title states: songs that start with any sort of storm-sounding samples.

So far I only have Dimmu Borgir's 'Stormblast' (which is the perfect song to start this playlist with, in my opinion)

and the crushingly majestic Celestiial's 'Great Storms Carry My Sadness'

I'm absolutely certain there's tons more songs that fit the criteria, so all suggestions are welcome. Bonus points if the song also has storm/thunder/lightning/rain in the title, and/or is about those actual things.

The Slayer and Sabbath songs I ran across shortly after making the thread, and they should have definitely been included in the OP. Important additions, both of them.

I'm unsure how 'Night Sky' escaped me. Will of Gods is Great Power is possibly my favorite Doom record of all time, considering I lean more toward the Epic Doom side of the genre. The lightning crackle in the beginning is masterful to set the song off.

Lane and funeralravens - you all are back at it again with the help, and I much appreciate it.

Aetherian I was not familiar with. Short sample there at the beginning indeed, but its audible, plus the song is titled...just...The Rain. This fits well.

The Draconian song was already on my hard drive so was added easily, and I love Arcane Rain Fell. Saturnus is one I haven't spent much time with, however. Much less did I know there was a record from last year. Both songs = perfect.

Helloween - Victim of Fate
Rain by Jason Becker (two minutes of godly guitar playing, perfect for an interlude)

Kinda:
Prelude to Madness/Hall of the Mountain King - Savatage (bell, wind and thunder)
Zed Yago (or Velvet Viper) - Black Bone Song (sounds of the sea)
Ranger - Shock Skull (first a bell tolling, then a thunder, which sounds very much like the Victim of Fate thunder!)

Great additions thus far. I have added all of them.

I was particularly keen on adding the Theatre of Tragedy, Ranger, Heidevolk, and Zed Yago songs, as they all come from records I'm both familiar with and have vastly enjoyed for quite some years.

The first three ToT records are near and dear within the Gothic Doom realm. Pilgrimage (Zed Yago) is one of my favorite Traditional Metal records (The Fear of Death and Rose of Martyrdom...ummphh.) With Ranger, I almost wish the storm sample was from one of the songs off of Knights of Darkness. That EP is a vicious masterpiece of speed metal, but Shock Skull delivers as well. I think the hype Fenriz gave them was what tipped me off to them, among others.

Heidevolk I had kind of forgotten about. Walhalla Wacht was enjoyed thoroughly around the time. Cool to see they are still around and making records.

Fittingly, the band Stormlord's self-titled track opens with a storm:
