I really love venom's first two albums but when I try to check out other black metal bands they just don't hit the same.

They most of the time feel slow and kinda melancholic. I would like it if you could suggest some fast and empowering black metal, like venom.

Most black metal bands don't sound like Venom because Venom isn't really a black metal band.

Which of the similar artists have you checked out?

Something like early Celtic Frost is way more similar to Venom than, say, Marduk or Mayhem. Midnight, Bulldozer, Sabbat (jp), maybe early Onslaught or Kat would be a closer fit.

I've checked out motorhead and sodom before but they don't really feel like black metal either. Both awesome though.

Have you tried Bathory and Hellhammer? Both are the kind of proto-black metal that you are looking for.

Great suggestions. I found hellhammer to be the better of the two. Both added to my playlist though.

I (the band) is pretty good. More alike later Venom stuff rather than early, though.

Again, not black metal, but if you really want something that scratches that Venom itch, you can't go wrong with Speedwolf.

State Manufactured Terror - demo 2023 - US crust - this is really cool crust with a UK vibe and raw Venomish vocal leanings.
Paranoid - Kill the Light 2022 - this is Venom "Black Metal" heavy metal via Swedish HC.
Transgression - demo 1987 - kind of like Cryptic Slaughter doing Venom - such fast thrash crossover; could have been a great bill with Lethal Aggression.

Sadistic Force - Midnight Assassin

This one was released in 2023 and is basically modern day Venom worship. Raw, straight-ahead, dirty blackened speed metal.
