Colored Sands, really? Fuck it, I don't care. Ecstatic that this finally has a fucking release date.

Damnit I want it now. But I guess a few more months won't kill me.

yea I kinda wished that they did unveal at least the track listing. I hope the artwork isn't ass, cause well the title sorta is but I'll get over it since it's Gorguts.

I hate to say this, but I think that track would be cooler with vocals. The music on it's own is cool and there are some sweet guitar riffs/textures going on, but to me it sounds a little too much like modern Deathspell Omega (not necessarily a bad thing). I'll probably get over it.

EDIT: So there will be vox on this, cool.

You do realize there will be vocals on it. That's from 2 years ago prior to Luc writing any lyrics and laying any vocals down.

Yep, definitely overlooked it! That's cool to know though. Tough part is going to be waiting another three months for this.

Man I'm so excited about this, they were my favourite death metal band for a while and some of the most original and inspiring metal. This are HUGE news!

Maybe the seemingly dumb title will make more sense once we see the artwork? Still, a little bit strange. Then again, it's Gorguts.

I really like the title, it makes me think of two things: 1) a desert wasteland and 2) an island in the middle of the ocean. Either way eho cares it just a title. I'm definitely going to pre order this as soon as it becomes available.

Uh oh.

The title sounds indiecore.

I have high hopes for this, but I am warned off by the change in direction... generally bands that do one thing really well don't do other things well at all.

Aw c'mon guys. The second picture is absolutely amazing looking. I'm intrigued by the title. Though I do think that "Colored Sands" would be a better title for a second Lykathea Aflame album.

I hear you. ;)

On a more serious note, it should have something to do with whatever concept Luc arranged for the album. I just hope it doesn't come out as an early sign that there's going to be a radical change in style. I can't bear the thought of a Gorguts album disappointing me. :aww:

I heard there are some new elements to their sound that they didn't have before but it still sounds very Gorguts-like none the less though, haven't been lucky enough to hear any of the new songs myself. you know either way the fans of only their first 2 albums won't like it

The newer elements that I have heard in their new songs are just a further natural progression for gorguts. like extended weird melodies and what not.

All you naysayers thinking this would never come out can eat your words. I'm so looking forward to this release, this year has had so much good music and this will be the icing on the cake. I'm surprised I only just now heard that instrumental song.

And yet I know for a fact I spend less than you on the internet, socialize(how it's correctly spelled) more, accomplish more things outside of my house in a week than you probably do in a year.

Someone needs to paste a gorguts logo on that second picture.

Seriously, I think it's a pretty cool album title.

Fuckin' hell, SLK, you're not 4 years old. My dad is stronger than yours!

I'm interested to see where Gorguts will go even though I dislike all the projects of the new members.

I might not be physically, but mentally I'm barely that. But when there is a pissing contest, I don't have any issue drowning the competition.

I've heard two of the new songs both of them sound like a good continuation of From Wisdom to Hate with more odd melodies and reaching around 7min mark. both I heard sans vocals. so I'm interested in hearing them with.

And your dad might be stronger, mine had to have his bicep and shoulder basically bolted back on to his bones cause from all the hard work he did he basically tore them from his bones inside. Also he has a couple of titanium rods along his spine from other work related injuries.

Will they have a new logo too I wonder?
I'm less interested in the album title than the audible content

I'm really looking forward to saying "I just got the new Gorguts album" :nods:
That will be a very cool day for us all

I'm part of the minority that prefers the first two albums over the latter two but I'll still be giving this an honest chance. Based on that one song, Luc's been able to tap into a sense of barely having restraint over the chaos without streamlining or simplifying things. To me, that's what has given From Wisdom to Hate the edge over Obscura - the songwriting ability evolving to match the technicality and experimentation. I was apprehensive about Longstreth being a part of this lineup as his constant blasting on the latest Dim Mak album soured it for me and he's tended to stay in that same one-gear mode in much of Origin's more recent material. Fortunately, that doesn't seem to be the case here as I'm aware he's much more talented than merely checking off the tropes for any other modern extreme metal drummer.

I don't necessarily think it's a cool name but I have no problems about it. It doesn't strike me as something out of left field at all.

Colored Sands is a good title for what is going to almost certainly be a great album.

Remember, Luc said he was going to write about Tibetan genocide something-or-other, which to me translates to something like "bloody sand." It's Gorguts. Very "indiecore."

Also I'm really gonna miss Steeve's crazy vocals and guitar playing :(

Yeah guys, I like the new album title. Granted, it's no "Ancient Misery" or anything else somewhat dark like the last four album titles, but it sounds like it could pass off as a song title on From Wisdom to Hate. It's not really as out-of-character as you guys seem to think it is... is the mere mention of color enough for you to say that the title isn't befitting of a metal band? :???:

Did you not miss them on From Wisdom to Hate cause he wasn't in the band by the time that was recorded. He was only on Obscura, unless you count that live album.
