I like this one: Metal from Hellas. Talks about how metal started and developed in Greece.

(Dunn fucking SUCKS, any metalhead with more than a year of listening experience can tell you the guy has his facts completely wrong).

Get Thrashed was great, as was documentary on Centuries of Torment.

They get all kinds of heat, and a lot of seemingly genuine hostility, but I liked the stuff Sam Dunn did. Sure I didn't agree with it all, or the genre chart which has morphed a bit it seems, but I find his work to be fun to watch even if its very broad and doesn't go into the small details as much as I would want.

why you do this

It's a great look at what it's like to be in a small band on tour.

I watched this for the first time last night and I highly recommend it as well. It's nothing I didn't already know, per se, but it's presented in a very eye-opening way that drives the point home more effectively than anything else I've seen on the same subject.

The documentaries by Bill Zebub (Grimoire of Exalted Deeds fanzine) are all entertaining. Someone mentioned his black metal one already. Black Metal: The Music of Satan, Pagan Metal, Death Metal: Are We Watching You Die are all interesting. Mainly interviews and live footage. THey are a little disjointed but the interviews are pretty cool. Metal Retardation and Extreme Metal Retardation are pretty funny, essentially they are a video version of the old fanzine.
