Track list:
1. Unwelcome
2. Carve my Cross
3. Handbook for the Recently Deceased
4. Choking on Sand
5. Let me be the One
6. Sunglasses at Night
7. Martyred or Mourning
8. No One Lies to the Dead
9. I Share in Shame
10. Scornstar

Release date: April 30, 2013

"So, we've had Unwelcome finished for quite some time now and we are happy to finally be able to share the finished product with everyone,” commented founder and lead guitarist/vocalist James Malone.

“As a band/musician, it's sometimes difficult to separate yourself from your work and visualize how others are going to interpret your work. In other words, it's sometimes hard to know whether or not your ideas are relevant to anyone but yourself. With Unwelcome, we certainly put all of our everything into the writing and recording and stopped paying attention to what's trendy or what we think might appeal to a larger audience. In doing so, I feel we have created one of the most sincere ARSIS albums and perhaps one of the most relevant."

"UNWELCOME was tracked at Audiohammer Studios in FL with producer Mark Lewis (THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER, WHITECHAPEL, DEVILDRIVER, DEICIDE, SIX FEET UNDER)."

Very excited, but if I recall correctly, the work in progress version of the artwork listed "The Face of My Innocence" as what I guessed was a Re-recording of the song. I wounder if that'll end up as a bonus track for a deluxe edition or something?

I like the idea of them trying not to appeal to trends and what have you, maybe they actually made something worth while here. I'm not a fan of their recent works, but I am looking forward to the album. Artwork is nice too.

I have been waiting to hear about this for quite sometime now. During that period, they released Lepers Caress EP which swayed me slightly in favor of the new music but then as time passed, it kinda left a bad taste in the mouth just as most of their recent releases have. Anyway, as always, I will always look forward to new material from them.

The artwork is not new though. This was released many months ago. Still, gotta hand it to them, they've at least done a decent job with it.

If it is like A Celebration of Guilt then we are in business, but if it isn`t I won`t bother. Malone has tons of talent and he needs to utilize it better than he has. I haven`t thoroughly enjoyed an Arsis album in a good while. I will keep an eye out.

Loved the debut, the second one was okay, third was terrible, and I only heard that stupid "Forced to Rock" song off of their last one. Can't say I'm really expecting anything of this one but maybe I'll check it out just to see what they're up to. Cover art's, yeah, pretty good. Song titles suck though.

Is that a cover of Corey Hart's 1983 pop song?

I don't know why people hates so much this band and at the same time I see an almost unanimous praise for 'A Celebration' and 'Diamond'. I think they've been pretty consistent in terms of style and songwriting, being only We Are The Nightmare who drifts more towards the technical side (which I also liked). A Starve was more or less the same style than United, and again, United wasn't that different from A Celebration...the Ep was also very reminiscent of United/Celebration (excepting the production values), so I'm pumped with this.

The only thing I think Arsis should change is the (kinda) thin tone of the guitars. They probably choose that kind of sound to get a cleaner performance, but more crunch with proper production won't hurt at all.

Well, I loved Starve For The Devil, hated the two before that, and loved Celebration, so if it's anything like their last album, I'll probably love it.

That's a little overly generous.

Eh, the song titles are terrible unless Arsis is going the whole cheeky-attempted-comedy route. Hmm. They're still terrible. Thematically, they've always been all over the place though.

......... Scornstar? Is that a play on Pornstar? Ugh, I never liked Arsis, but this is dragging them to a new low.

That song was made available for listen recently: http://www.metalsucks.net/2013/03/20/ex ... -by-arsis/ (Just scroll down a little bit)

I actually may get excited if the whole album has songs this good. I am not a huge fan of Arsis but this sounds like something off of A Celebration of Guilt.

Damn, that actually sounded excellent. I like the fact it sounds more death metal than anything released... after Diamond perhaps.

Hey guys,

While it is great to see so much conjecture about how much we will suck before anybody has heard any music, MetalSucks did indeed premiere "Scornstar" today, streaming and free download. We would love if you guys would check it out and save a copy. The Deluxe Edition of Unwelcome which is the one up for pre-orders right now does include a re-recorded The Face of my Innocence, as well as the Leper's Caress EP as bonus tracks. We are touring in support of Unwelcome throughout May with Hypocrisy, Krisiun, and Aborted, leading up to the Scion Rock Fest in Memphis, TN.

Egads! That was a .wav file

And wow, at first listen, this was really good...completely shat on the Leper Caress EP and some of the recent stuff. Barring the meh song title, the music quality was surprisingly enjoyable. The song has strong melodies and if this continues, Unwelcome could be a good 2013 release.

That's right, the dates you're referring to have been announced and are included in that list. There may be an additional headlining date or two tacked on for us during off days as things develop (May 24 & 31) but that's basically it!

That's an awesome tour lineup! Unfortunately there are no D.C. area shows, so I won't be catching this one.

I like Scornstar more then I do of what I can remember off Starve. I like the production better too, a few tweaks that go a long way (for me anyways).

I have mentioned this on Arsis` facebook page, but to try and press the issue a bit more, I hope you guys make your way to Colorado; the Denver metro area in particular. There is a pretty big metal community out here and I am sure we would be glad to have you.

Of course we would love to play a lot of places we are missing on this run, definitely Denver, also DC area, Florida, etc. But, if we aren't headlining, we just have to go where they tell us to. When we are headlining, we are restricted by geography and the routing. You can't win them all. We played in Denver and Springfield back in December and hopefully will get to hit these places on another tour in the near future.
