Usually I listen to stuff that is more relaxing and peaceful when studying. Sometimes I listened to metal bands like Summoning, or Negura Bunget.

Generally it's stuff like this.

Cisfinitum is something I used to play quite a lot. Melancholic ambient stuff, not thought provoking but very pleasant to me. It's something I can listen to and enjoy as music even, not simply ambient.

Mogwai is also a classic for me. Entirely instrumental albums preferably, I'm not generally distracted by screams of growls (unless they're obnoxious or too present in the mix), but clean voice is distracting. So, something like the Zidane soundtrack, or songs like this:

Usually, I just listen to whatever I feel like.
"A glimpse of light is all that it takes to illuminate the darkness."
Guitarist/vocalist in Illusions Dead - death/black metal
Vocalist in Gloaming - vile, crawling death/doom metal
