Almost every band on this list needs a mention in here even if most are not metal enough for this site. Many musicians just name a band after their own name... I also like the name Asphyx a lot as it is just short for asphyxiation and with the shortened spelling sounds even more metal now. Lock Up is just short and simple and sounds fine to me. |

There is a Malaysian death metal band called Lavatory. Even if they're as good as Vomitory or Disma I will never be able to take them seriously. Recently saw a band in HellsHeadbangers called Shitfucker. I mean seriously? |

I kind of like the name "Shitfucker". Not great as a strictly metal band name but for like a messy powerviolence/thrash/crust type of band that'd be pretty boss. Very basic string of profanity but it does have a ring to it. |

Oddly enough, our music requires us to be rather tight, but we were all so drunk that we ended up fucking shit up even more than SHitfucker...

I've heard good things about Galaktik Cancer Squad, but the name is so fucking idiotic I just can't even give them the time of day. Despite the stupid first part, calling a one man band a "squad" just rubs me the wrong way. |

Since this topic didn't define what genre, I'm going to go with "The Beatles". They may be pioneers of rock music, but what do beetles have to do with music. Now prior to that they were called "The Silver Beetles", even still. I don't get it. Oh and also "Gaggle of Cocks" |

As a non-speaker of Polish with only a scant understanding of Slavic pronunciation and vocab, I think Mgła have a great and fitting band name. Liked it before I looked up what it meant, like it even more now. It combines the simplicity of early black metal band names while being distinctive - since not many bands name themselves in Polish. I wear it proudly on a hoodie and t-shirt, haha. |

Also from the same Autopsy tribute album. Matutina Noctem - Matutina was a name for some annoying house help in a local comedy series here in the Philippines. I checked the band's page and they already changed their name! |

Morbid Angel - don't know why but the name always sounded uninspired to me Sepultura - Same Monstrosity - good band, bad name Origin - even more so Von Goat - combining the band Von and a random animal (i call Von Dog, Von Fish and Von Lion) Judas Priest / Led Zepellin / most of the NWOBHM their names just sound silly in retrospect Between the Buried and Me - amazing band, but the name makes no sense worst of all ... {Black|Dark|Red|Yellow|Blue} Funeral - we've heard enough Funerals (especially since most of the bands are average) |
