I'm surprised that there are not many bands that use Spaghetti Western influence in their music. A few came upon were merely novelty and never captured the full essence of a SpagWest epic. Desperado was too cheesy and to novelty-ish for their own good.

There are some Desperado songs that did capture it though, like this song (My Gun and Me) but it's not metal enough:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y8KVLGOpVug

Redwest is almost there
http://youtu.be/JaSbVz1BOn8

I'm trying to find bands of a more extreme variety that uses this style. Try imagining a black metal band that has influence like this:
http://youtu.be/BIs8iaj4Ymg

or from the king of Spaghetti Western itself, Morricone:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nOr0na6mKJQ

I'm trying to keep this off from a typical rec thread but also part discussion about using SpagWest styled orchestration and guitars in metal.

Yes, I know the song Battery but that song does not encapsulate the SpagWest feel. Having an acoustic intro that sounds like what Morricone might be writing is not what I'm looking for. I looking for something that integrates the SpagWest feel into extreme metal. If there isn't anyone doing so, what is the best way to combine them so?

I've always thought Black or most Modern Folk Metal bands should give this idea a try. If a band like Glorior Belli can integrate New Orleans influenced blues in their music, I'm sure there are black metal bands that can fuse these 2 styles together.

Its probably debatable how "metal" the releases are but mid-period Earth pretty much sounds exactly like the soundtrack to some bleak western film (or maybe even documentary) that never got made. Really atmospheric stuff. Not something I find myself listening to often, but it really hits the spot on occasion.

Newer Earth has always struck me as a descendent of the Dead Man soundtrack by Neil Young. It would work great as the score to an experimental, atmospheric western, but would feel strange in a more traditional spaghetti western.

Actually, that band sounds pretty badass. If there's ever a CD release of the album, I will very much throw my money at the guy.

I will second Ribos, they sound pretty damn good to my ears, debut cd has been ordered, you can clearly here the western style influence in their music, thanks again Metantoine.

As if I wasn't poor enough already Metantoine has to post a musical quandary worth investigation.

If my memory doesn't completely fail me, Sólstafir from Iceland have a fairly large Morricone's Leone-western era influence on their Masterpiece of Bitterness album. Or at least the first, twenty-minute long track, I, Myself the Visionary Head. The style tiptoes on the edge of black and post-black (if you allow the term) metal.

Sigh's 'Gallows Gallery' has a bit of Morricone influence, at least it sounds like it.

Damnit you beat me to it lol! As soon as I saw the thread title I thought of Leeches of Lore and came here to recommend them also. Seriously, ever since I found this band like a month ago, I cannot stop listening to them.

What sucks tho is as soon as I found out about them, they decide to go on a year or two hiatus. dangit

Spite Extreme Wing's Vltra album fits your "spaghetti western bm" rec perfectly.

I been listening to this album but I don't detect any spagwest feel.

I'm gonna have to give it a listen with that in mind, it really is a great album. Even if you aren't a post metal nut like me you gotta enjoy it. 8)

The guy behind LoL just has to be confused by the sudden surge of orders and downloads from his site.

Just waiting on my copy of Attack The Future now!

I think LOL's best album is their first, followed by their latest. Attack the Future didn't really hook me for some reason.

I don't know if it's quite what you're looking for but the acoustic work on Lord Of Hate and Claws In So Deep by Death Angel were the first songs that came to mind. I also second Earth as a good example of western music though it is rather melancholic.

My comment on one of their FB status: "I'm pushing this album whenever I can, I'm sure you got at least 5 buys because of me! :)" They should send me free stuff, just sayin' :annoyed:  I also gave them a 98%, eh!

Viikate anyone? They are great at creating an melancholic atmosphere in their music. They are one of my favorite bands out of Finland even.
