Whatever happened to the collection thread thing which was meant to get started up?

Also to Naymar, if you're after Lead Us (I didn't bother as it's basically just a single), a seller has many copies available on Amazon DE

Got these yesterday:

Image
Aldious: Dazed & Delight [limited edition w/ DVD + alternate CD cover]
-All-female heavy/power metal (Japan seems to have quite a few of these). Stylistically this one is all over the place, a bit weird at times, and a good chunk of this isn't metal. Not sure I'm gonna proclaim it their best album yet, it certainly blows "District Zero" out of the water. I don't think its going to dethrone that MinstreliX for my favorite album from this year, but its giving it a run for its money. Some pretty nice bass-work here.

人間椅子 (Ningen-Isu): - 萬燈籠, 此岸礼讃
-This will take some time to properly absorb, but it seems pretty interesting so far.

Burzum - The Ways of Yore
Church of Void / Lowburn - Split 7" (Worth getting for CoV's track)
Mansion - We Shall Live (Nine Records MCD version with all the lyrics. Already had the self-released 12"+CD-R combo but this release is just too damn good not to own a proper CD as well. Also a brilliant live band!)
Ocean Chief - Universums härd
Return from the Grave - The Rebirth from the Last Breath (Flimsy "light" digipak reissue. I'm afraid it will fall apart just by looking at it. Some bands sure make strange format choices sometimes. It's a good thing the music rocks!)
Return from the Grave - Gates of Nowhere
Saviour Machine - Saviour Machine I (Bought it from a friend who's selling most of his CD collection. Lots of limited edition and hard to get Saviour Machine stuff (among other things) but I don't need that so I just went with albums 1 & 2)
Saviour Machine - Saviour Machine II
Suicide - Suicide (The 2CD with live bonus tracks on the second disc)
Wolfshead - MMXIV (It's no Fall of the Idols but the band is improving nicely. The vocals will forever be an acquired taste, though)
Zaum - Oracles
Zirakzigil - Battle of the Peak (CD version with a chiptune bonus track. Because the band wasn't nerdy enough already?)

Not really purchases. But I received in trade from Mr Albert Witchfinder the following items

Reverend Bizarre/Electric Wizard split (Red vinyl die hard)
KLV/Viikate split 7 inch
Reverend Bizarre Dark World Deceiver
The Candles Burning Blue/Suruaika split 7 inch

All records signed as well

I'm a die hard RB fan so these are all pretty special to me :)

A few days ago I ordered the recently released The Quantum Enigma by Epica. Some of Epica's previous albums were... good, but their new one is simply f*cking amazing! The choirs and orchestration combined with crushing riffs make it one of the heaviest symphonic metal albums I've heard (not counting symphonic black/death metal), which is exactly what I like.

It just has more or less everything that I (a big fan of symphonic metal) could possibly ask for.

Finally got my hands on

Mastodon - Once More Round The Sun
Mayhem - Esoteric Warfare
Triptykon - Melana Chasmata
Autopsy - Tourniquets, Hacksaws, and Graves

The latter three weren't available at The Exchange, who are usually great about carrying this kind of stuff. I took my chances and tried out Best Buy, even though i haven't bought from them in years. They had ALL of them. Very strange.

I did get Immolation's Close to a World Below at the Exchange, though. Great album.

Being re-employed is sure nice.

That metal market on Graspop Metal Meeting had some pretty sweet stuff, bought these cd's there:

Image

Amorphis - Tales from the thousand Lakes (90s digipack version)
Morbid Angel - Blesssed Are The Sick
Morbid Angel - Domination
Amorphis - The Karelian Isthmus

Image

Unleashed - Where no life dwells
Paradise Lost - Lost Paradise
Therion - Of Darkness.... ( it's the real deal, I was surprised to find this one there, it did cost quite a lot, but still a hell of a lot cheaper than anywhere on the internutz, instabuy-mode)

I also spotted Malevolent Creation - Ten Commandments for 17 euro's !! . I already have that one, so I let that one pass. It was way cheaper than what I bought it for though, haha... :p

Jasper's haul is good, but Machine_Dead's is awesome! :nods:

Sadly my Hellfest haul from this year brought no rarities home, only original stuff from the last 15 years and a few reissues from the nineties. Could've been better but at least I closed some holes in my collection. :)

Picked up the following at my local Record and Tape Traders:

Incantation - Dirges of Elysium, Heard and recorded a song off of this new Incantation album at MDF and it was really killer stuff, very death/doom sounding, but with the abrupt tempo changes and varied songwriting Incantation is known for. Really psyched about this album.

Candlemass - Nightfall, Awesome band I need to listen to more and this addition will certainly help. They were awesome at MDF too, of what I can remember (was kind of drunk). \m/ \m/

Also pictured: My cat's cute paw. :3

Another order from Dissident Records

Maze Of Torment - Hammers Of Mayhem [SWE, this is a very cool black/thrash band from Sweden, I have 4 CDs of theirs now]
Nuclear Assault - Out Of Order [US, original IRS, killer album]
Portal - Outre' [FRA, original Ordo Decimus Peccatum version]
Prosanctus Inferi - Noctambulous Jaws Within Sempiternal Night [US, twisted black/death, I think like red streams of flesh better though]
Throneum - Deathmass Of The Gravedancer [NED, violent Polish black/death]
The Ravenous - Blood Delirium [US, digipak, basically this is Autopsy/Abscess + Dan Lilker and Killjoy [Necrophagia], it's solid sick twisted DM]

Midnight - No Mercy for Mayhem [2CD]
Skitsystem - Gra Varld / Svarta Tankar [LP]

Got these on the way home from work. Drinking wine and listening.

I have listened to the Midnight album already and it is very great, one of the best I've heard this year for sure. Listening to the Skitsystem LP now and I know I will be playing bands such as World Burns to Death and Discharge for the rest of the night, I'm feeling the crust vibe right now for sure.

Got these from a seller on Discogs yesterday, some of them I only got to pack out the shipping but turned out to be quite good.

Bolt Thrower - Mercenary [GER, promo]
Candlemass - Death Magic Doom [GER, CD+DVD, ltd ed digipak]
Isis + Aereogramme - In The Fishtank 14 [NED, what is this godawful rubbish?!]
Otis - Electric Landlady [UK, very good and catchy stoner sludge metal]
Rotten Sound - Under Pressure [SPA, Repulse Records promo, proper grindcore]
Soilent Green - A Deleted Symphony For The Beaten Down [US, I have every SG album now]
Todd - Purity Pledge [UK, sounds like Unsane + Lair Of The Minotaur = wicked]

Recently received:

Scent of Death - 'Of Martyrs' Hate and Agony' LP
Ash Pool - 'World Turns on Its Hinge' CD (surprisingly-kinda-awesome black metal project of Dominick Fernow AKA Prurient)
Ignivomous - 'Eroded Void of Salvation' 7-inch
Sanctum/Stormcrow split LP

Just ordered tonight:

Kreator - 'Extreme Aggression' CD (can't believe I don't have this already!)
Naer Mataron - 'Awaken in Oblivion' CD
