That Witchtrial demo is solid and I'm hyped to see what they do next. I'm only familiar with them since they're local to me, cool to see someone mention them here.

I had a pretty great pick up today from one of the local record shops. Mütiilation's Black Millenium (Grimly Reborn) album. This is the 2017 Drakkar pressing on white vinyl.

Was it Mckay's used book store? I went there the other week when my band played at NYP and they had a bunch of great shit, sadly I was on limited funds and didn't pick anything up.

Apocalypse Orchestra - The End is Nigh Really cool doom/folk metal. Had a lot of fun listening to this and was even happier to have the folk infused with actual instruments and not keyboards.
Venenum - Trance of Death This was an awesome slice of Morbus Chron influenced death metal. Has some death n roll in there too, but I loved the shit out of this.
Mothership - High Strangeness A really enjoyable stoner metal/rock release. Some good riffs and just something to get that head bobbing and foot tapping.
Incantation - Profane Nexus It's a fucking Incantation album, what more can I say? It's got that soul crushing atmosphere and that from the depths tenacity that we've all come to love.

Image

Suffocation - ...Of the Dark Light There is a review on here that says this album is the best since Pierced From Within and he's absolutely correct. They definitely injected some new life into their sound on this one.
Alastor - Black Magic Psychedelic doom metal, done oh so very well. The album is only three tracks, two of which are over 10 minutes, but the tracks don't get boring. The vocals are under the guitars in the mix and I fucking love it when bands pull that off correctly.
Vomit Remnants - Hyper Groove Brutality If you like a mixture of riffs, grooves and slams in your death metal then fucking pick this up.
Necrophagist - Epitaph I've loved this album forever but was way late on actually snagging a copy. An absolute classic and to say otherwise is heresy. Oh, and reform and make new shit.

It's been a long while since I posted some purchases so with the quality of albums here I thought it was a good place to pick back up. Cheers!

Dying Fetus - Wrong One to Fuck With

Incantation - Profane Nexus, Always got to get the latest Incantation, they the best. Dirges is actually a pretty kick ass record, just listened to it again the other day. So expecting a lot from this. Cover art is good as always from Incantation.
Memoriam - For the Fallen, I expect this to sound a lot like Bolt Thrower, and that's okay, it's what I want. Another melody-minded, tank busting, war focused death metal album I'm down for, Bolt Thrower had an abrupt and untimely demise, and I certainly wasn't ready for them to end. If this can conjure up even a touch of the Bolt Thrower magic, I'll dig it.
Tau Cross - Pillar of Fire, I remember the first album being pretty unique and solid stuff, so I expect the same here.
Tsjuder - Legion Helvete, Orthodox Norwegian second wave is sometimes nice to blast, and this is exactly that.

I also picked up the old It film due to just having seen Annabelle Creation and seeing the trailer for the new It film. I had never seen this original version, and that new trailer looked actually really damn good, to my surprise. Slow, atmospheric and really suspenseful and creepy. The tone of the new It film definitely feels serious and genuinely sinister based on the twoish minute trailer. Can't wait to see it next month (I think). Thought I'd give the original a watch beforehand.
