surprised positively?

It was the first one I picked up cause I loved 'rape of a slave' So I had to get the album cause I figured the rest would be as equally good.

Nocturnal Poisoning-A Misleading Reality (cd)

Straight from the man himself. He threw in for good measure:

Gravesideservice-Fog (cd)

My tertiary understanding of Gravesideservice is that it is guitar-less BM? I don't know, not familiar with this project (I probably have that wrong).

I don't know, haha. I have a Gravesideservice album that's guitar-less. It has some BM aesthetics but it's like weird church music more like. But then, some other guy mentioned having the same album and said it definitely had guitars, which is very strange.

Have you heard the Arsenal of Glory demo? It's not included on the demo collection thing, and it has Branding the Peon, which is one of Arghoslent's best tracks.

I don't have the 3 demo release thing. I have the demo collection that's titled Arsenal of Glory.... so yea I've heard it. it's good. I just like the albums a bit more. I might go revisit it.

Arsenal of Glory has become my favorite Arghoslent release over the last few months. I've had it for years but it only just recently revealed it's full potential to me. Branding the Peon is good but this demo has the definitive version of Rape of a Slave for me. Also, I can't believe they didn't see fit to record "The Negress" for an LP. The cymbal work towards the middle-end of that track gives me goosebumps every time.

The "First 3 Demos" collection is pretty cool and I've got quite a bit of mileage out of it. I think it's fun to hear them with such a horrid/raw production. It makes the riffs sound way more savage, and the sickly-sweet melodic harmonies and leads sound even more incredible when they bubble up out of the miasma.

well at the very least I'm sold on revisting it and possibly getting that 2nd collection if it pops up for a decent price for me.

NOCTURNUS - THRESHOLDS

YES! Finally got this fucker in the mail! Pledged in June and after a bunch of emails about delay (you'd think Earache could get their shit together..) I wake up to finding this hanging on my door outside! Unfortunately 2 of the corners are dinged in, but it doesn't bother me that much, I guess.

Well that's maybe one of the greatest black metal albums of all time! Don't hesitate to pick up The Jilemnice Occultist. It sounds a LOT like Ritual, except with much more liberal timpani use.

Can't wait for their demo comp to show up...actually, I need to go check the mail.

Absolutely. When that recent re-release happened I was going to snag a copy of that cassette as well, though I refrained. Didn't really feel like spending €19.00 on a tape.

Wait, do you mean the compilation or their second album? Last I checked NWN! had cd copies of the three demos comp for Master's Hammer for 5 bucks.

There was a time when Ritual and Jilemnice were both stupid expensive but I thought that was about over with.

Got mine a couple of days ago. Did you play yours yet? How was the sound? I dunno if it's just me, but mine sounds pretty shitty to be honest. I got a purple one.

I thought mine sounded pretty good, but I didn't play much of it. I'll give it a proper listen later on today. Hell of a lot better than the original pressing, though. The production is so much better. Was yours damaged at all? I noticed a lot of other users on Kickstarter were complaining about small dings and seam splits, which mine had none of, thankfully. Just 2 corner dings.

It has two small splits. The vinyl itself doesn't look like it's damaged at all, but it sounds super boomy and bassy.

Damn, that sucks. I don't remember it being that bassy, but I'll get back to on that after I've given it a few more spins later on.
