Alright, I admit I giggled.

Eric Adams and Nemtheanga would certainly be top contenders for 'most commanding' vocalists, off the top of my head.

I can't imagine someone looking up to that BM diva as a leader. He always seemed to me as a Norse version of Beavis and Butthead.

Pest is quite grand to me. So is Garm of Ulver for the hateful spite in his voice. Then there is the hysterical tone of Proscriptor on Absu's "Shineth unto the Cold Cometh". And also there is the deafening acidic burn of Blazamon from Bishop of Hexen.

as for truly commanding, though most may not think so, I am explicitly find the vocals of Teo from Nashehrhum 'commanding'. Like a force of clear and willful power. Just listen to the title track on their EP.

The music may have something to do with my impression though.

haha  .

Most commanding, I guess 'Mortuus', Daniel Rosten. Or perhaps the barking german throat of 'Wolf', Ronald Möbus.

Speaking of intimidating vocalists Saveki from G.I.S.M. makes me shit my pants and his disturbing persona isn't really helping. Drinking with him could prove unhealthy!

Is it just me or did Halford do a legitimate growl at 4:07? It may be the most awesome thing i've ever seen.

Agree with everyone who said Nemtheanga from Primordial. He sounds like he's about to summon the hordes to battle with each line, or lamenting over the loss of his country.

Pete fucking Steele for sure.

He's voice in the earlier days could crush you while summon every woman to kneel infront of him.

Not quite my vote though, I don't even have to think about mine. Surprised I'm the first one to mention him also... oh well.

I second Nergal and Devin Townsend.

I suggest Vorph from Samael. Saw them live, he really moved the crowd with his inciting moves.

If I'm understanding this concept correctly then I would definitely say that Alan 'Nemtheanga' Averill from Primordial is the most commanding vocalist I have ever heard.

And from what I hear he has an intense and very commanding stage presence.

Hell yeah. Perhaps not the most commanding, but, hell yeah. And yeah, stage presence is literally awesome. He's mesmerizing.

I'd also like to second Nergal. Both vocally as well as on stage. Some dude in this topic mentioned feeling fear when he saw him, I think I have to agree with that.
