One other guy similar to the bass/vocals role is David Vincent. I think David does both things better than Tom and Glen but he doesn't get enough credit on the bass still.

Tom can certainly play, his basslines upto Reign in Blood were decent. Since then they got simpler (as the riffing got faster and the vocal paces changed) but Tom is still a competent player.

RiB was just about Slayer's fastest album.

Hm. Can anyone confirm that Glen didn't actually play bass on "Legion" then? I've always loved the bass on that album..it's completely prominent and in your face and quite complex with respect to the guitar riffing, but no other Deicide album seems to have bass-playing that's remotely like it, or else it's pushed so far back in the mix that you can't tell.

This live performance shows Glen to at least appear competent:

Maybe he's gotten lazy over the years and dumbed-down his bass lines (in addition to his music).

That's probably exactly what happened. That show looked quite killer actually. Benton was ripping it up on bass.

I saw a video oh them playing Sacrificial Suicide when they were still Amon and he seemed to be ripping it up and singing. But we all know how the tides of time affect that area.

I saw this video too. Isn't he using his fingers?
Yes, he was. He didn't always use a pick...
