Why is this not in the marketplace?

You mean this whole thread?

If you want a humble (relative) noob's opinion, it would only fit in the marketplace if the metal shops were advertising themselves. The marketplace is like buy/sell/trade from other board members, not get advice about where to go from other board members. Right?

Are there any record stores in the Western Michigan area besides Vertigo in Grand Rapids? Preferably in or around GR, but anywhere along the western MI region works too. Also not preferably the F.Y.E. stores.

Hello everyone.
I hope you all are having a good time.
I want to know where can I find a metal Shop in Bogota, Colombia. I´m really interested in a place where I can find almost everything, since shoes o boots to T-shirts or hats. I expect someone can help with this.
Thanks to all.
Have a nice whatever it is doing in your countries.

Anyone got any experience record shopping in Baltimore, MD? I've been down there but not record shopping. Been looking for record stores online, and will likely head to The Sound Garden, and then saw El Suprimo and Own Guru which are nearby, but unsure if they have much of a metal/hard rock selection. Is Sound Garden very good for metal/hard rock/aor? Anyone care to recommend anywhere else in Baltimore city? I'm aware of the good stores in other other parts of the state.

After a weekend trip to Baltimore i can't recommend The Sound Garden record store at all for anything good. It's mostly really obvious mainstream newer bands in the 'metal' section, there isn't much worth visiting there for. Overpriced and lame. Had tremendous luck elsewhere.

If you're ever in the area, there a few decent music shops in Columbia, South Carolina. One is the Manifest Disc and the other is Scratch n Spin. The former is an extension of the Charlotte store while the latter is a pure local music/comic shop. That being said, both have some good selections for local metalheads and apparently Scratch n Spin had a early pressing of Megadeth's 'Killing is My Business...". There is a another store called Papa Jazz that is more for the Jazz and Indie crowd but have some of the more classic metal releases.

Rolling Stones in Norridge, just outside of Chicago (literally about 5 seconds from the outskirts) has grown a solid metal collection. It's better than Reckless Records, tons of free parking is the number one reason. I've picked up plenty of great stuff there, Destroyer 666, Panopticon and tons of others I can't even remember off the top of my head. The guy that runs that section is solid, always has a suggestion and keeps it full. Check it out.

I'm not sure about local demos, but you could go to Missing Link, at 405 Bourke Street. There's also Heartland Records at 61 Peel Street. Both sell metal CDs, but I haven't been to either yet, I'm going to go in a few days time. There's always JB Hi-Fi, but I doubt it sells demos at all.

Update: Heartland Records has moved to 420 Victoria Street.

Not sure if it's been posted in the past or not, but check out Zion's Gate Records in Seattle. Badass selection and great people.

Probably far fetched... I'm visiting Norway again this year and was hoping to find one or two decent (black) metal shops. I'll be heading to Alesund and Kristiansund if all goes well. Any chances of finding a decent metal shop in those two places?!?

That's a shame. I remember stopping in there some years back and the selection was excellent. I guess they have fallen off since then. I almost went there on my last trip to MD but decided to pass. I guess it's a good thing I did.

Hello fellow brothers! :D

I'm planning to go at Prague with school on March, so I'd appreciete any help of Czech people for good metal shops.
Also a tip for the prices in the city would be nice, 'cause the currency will be different.

Ha, really? At least you knew that if something happened to you, the workers at Real Groovy would be out to assist. :) It's cool that you've made a bunch of friends there.

Yeah hard case aye!
I really need to go and see the new shop at some point, I haven't had any time off for 9 months so when I get to use my leave days I'll make an effort to go in.

Everyone will have missed you, haha. I'm hopefully going to Auckland during winter (money pending) so if I do I'll have to go in there and check it out, too.
