Where can I find background story on the 2 recorded versions of this album?

Who here has both versions and can tell us how different they sound, etc.?

Most people would say that the European version (the one with "After the Deluge") is superior, because it is less sloppy and whatnot. But, I've grown so accustomed to the US version which is found on In the Sign of Evil/Obsessed by Cruelty reissue that, by the time I had the chance to hear the European version (downloaded), it sounded downright weird and wrong in places. I'll stick with my CD. I've heard the other version, it was fun for a while, it was cool to hear that one extra song, but really, the differences are meager, at least to my ears.

I have both versions, and I like both, as the sound of both is really sloppy but the songs make it a masterpiece. Differences are clearly in the drums and guitar sound.

Tom gave the information in a Rock Hard magazine interview (in German) two years go. Up until then it was not that much known.

I only found this because I got Obsessed By Cruelty during tapetrading and when I bought the LP a bit later it sounded quite different. Some letters with the tapetrader later it was clear that there is a difference in the two pressings. Though it was a hassle to hunt down the original Metal Blade LP-press.
