This is huge news. I should give the last album another spin soon.

Glad to see this coming out! I interviewed Mike a while back and am super excited to see the single. The Decibel flexi-disc single is apparently going to be a bonus track on the CD and maybe the vinyl (not sure on the vinyl), but with a slightly different mix on the album compared to the flexi disc. Can't wait!

Single was great. I loved Paradox, so I'm looking forward to seeing their followup.

The Key is one of my favorite albums of all time, looking forward to this release.

There is also a mind-bending video of the single, this is seriously awesome:

Yes it is. Im usually very doubtful when it comes to AI generated videos, but this fits perfectly to the song i must admit. Insanity.

Wow, really glad I stumbled upon this thread! I love Nocturnus, as well as Nocturnus AD's Paradox album, so I'm definitely looking forward to this. Both singles revealed so far sound amazing; I never get tired of riff-heavy synthy death metal.

Another great single. Yeah, at this point, I think it's confident that this album's another banger.

Cool track, but the vocals are a little weak.

Eh, it's Mike Browning. An objectively technically poor vocalist, but he's instantly recognizable and I really can't imagine a proper Nocturnus release with anyone else.

Thresholds had someone else on vocals, and I thought that album was decent. The third Nocturnus album after Mike Browning was kicked out of the band had yet another vocalist, but I think that album is pretty solidly their weakest work.

He's the boss, he likes it that way. A grunting drummer is a cool thing to watch, still original, even if his voice comes down to standard belching at best.
Anyway, vocals in Nocturnus have never been the point, they're just there.

IMO Thresholds is pure old school technical metal wizardry, half death metal, half speed metal ; Dan Izzo was on vocals, it didn't change much but i couldn't care less. Even better than The Key in my book.

Love that album, pretty heavily underrated, very strong on atmosphere and cool guitar runs. I do wish the production were a bit better.

Regarding Mike's vocals, that's just part of the Nocturnus AD sound to me, I do recognise that kind of snarly spoken-word type delivery (very on-the-beat) isn't for everyone though. I just think that some of the charm would be lost if it they were more standard or generic vocals. Same with the at times goofy lyrics, luv 'em. Just glad this kind of dank keyboard inflected death metal is still getting made, I wish there were more modern bands exploring this sound.

The album is out now, I am listening to it on bandcamp. Pretty good, so far.

There was also another cool video released, for one of the tracks on the album.

Every preview track was absolutely a riff clinic so I’m excited to get my copy/listen to the whole thing. I liked his vocals more on the last one but that’s not really the focal point of Nocturnus.

cool album. vocals are weak, yeah but it doesn’t really matter. definitely didn’t need to be an hour long, though.

double album is often boring, it's like a handicap, music needs to be even better because you got more manipulation and it cost more.... They recently reissued Celtic frost Nemesis Vanity and that's an album I like but far from being their best, that's fine this way, but now we have a double record with some extras and then this album is shit AND expensive

that's why I had hesitation, this and artwork which was better on previous one... so now I did ordered but I need to wait july for a global shipping

we rarely had death metal on double, last one like Benediction is too much, sadly, then the Immolation Atonment I love it really much but the next one I rarely play it (same goes for Carcass, Surgical is so good, why going double for a diluted version ??) Labels or anyone behind this is a mystery to me

Yesssss, the album is very dank. Good variety too, in terms of the riffs, there's some interesting stuff.
Need to listen more to decide whether I like the production or not.
