Opium Warlords - Taste My Sword of Understanding Long pause since I listened this. Opens better now. Seems to get better as it progresses - my humble opinion. |

Bikini Kill - The First Two Albums I like punk, but I'm not sure if this is punk. I'm not even sure if this is any good. |

Tad Morose- Chapter X. The Groove is real, people This is not only TM's best with Ronny Hemlin on vocals, but easily their best since Modus Vivendi. Killer, chugging, dark power metal galore! |

Carach Angren - Three Times Thunder Strikes After a few listens I don't think "Dance and Laugh..." is as good as "Where the Corpses..." which was my intro to this band. |

"Dance and Laugh Amongst the Rotten" is a fun album, I think it's a step up from "This Is No Fairytale" at least. However, everything up to and including "Where the Corpses Sink Forever" is indeed better. Anyways, Dokken - Turn On the Action. Thank you Freddy Krueger for introducing me to this band. "Tooth and Nail" has become one of my favorite 80s heavy metal albums. |

This Is No Fairytale was a bit underwhelming, whereas Dance and Laugh Amongst the Rotten was a lot more enjoyable. |

Solstice - White Horse Hill Epic Doom with a touch of English folkiness in places. Great to have them make a new album after all these years. |

DividerOfShadows wrote: Ace_Rimmer wrote: Rush - Time Stand Still. Probably my favorite Rush song. Probably a lot of do with growing older and seeing those you love grow older with you or die and move into the past where they are just memories and echoes. No more passing the evening with a drink and a friend in too many cases. Plus the drumming is perfection, the vocals earnest and honest, and the general musicianship is...well Rush. I'm genuinely, but pleasantly surprised that somebody likes a track off Hold Your Fire. Great album that is really underrated. And an awesome track too! Its not my favorite Rush record but its not bad in the least and I love that song. I listened to it a lot last month on vacation driving round Normandy and found more tracks to dig but for me this is the standout. I loved Peart when he wrote about the individual standing against the collective and those themes but on this one he really nailed a song that I can relate to on a personal level and evokes a feeling I often have myself. |

Norsumuurarit - Kadehdin ruotsalaisia Wish I had a physical copy of 'Hidas on raskasta". Not-so-serious but good Finnish heavy rock. They say "slow is heavy", and that statement totally lasts! |

Clayman and Jester Race are two of the pivotal records in my evolution as a metalhead. Of course I had heard that style of singing before, but they were a couple of the first records I loved with "screaming/growling" vocals. I happened upon them right around the end of a school-year (in 2001), and they've both become kind of summer albums to me and my group of friends. I haven't been a fan of In Flames since shortly after; I never liked a record released during the time I was a fan, only the back catalog. But I did get a chance to see them live just over a year ago for the first time. I was delighted they played Moonshield and Jester's Dance. When I got to meet Bjorn and Anders after, I was able to tell them how much Jester Race and Clayman meant to me, and even got my vinyl signed. Super cool dudes, got to hang with them for close to 15 minutes. Clayman is still one of my favourite In Flames tracks. |

Absolutely, it's marvelous how much inspired and unconventional they were! Have you got around listening to Kargeras? Horna - Vihan Tie The melodic "chorus" riff it's shiver inducing |

I have played Clayman so much that I only break it once in a while now. Played it to death for years. |

Survivor - Vital Signs Just the first spin. Okay, maybe a little too happy AOR for my taste, want songs like 'Jackie Don't Go' and 'I'm Not That Man Anymore'. Remember that first song from somewhere. Must've been a hit. |

Van Halen - Aint Talkin' Bout Love Great rock and roll for me tends to be filled with attitude and swagger, and Jesus Christ does DLR lay it down on this track. Its what I loved about this era of the band, and bands like GnR, Bon Scott AC/DC, and some others. DLR just sells it hard and not much needs to be said about that guitar tone, soloing, and riffage. Hard for me to say this isn't the greatest rock debut ever. |
