Unmothered - Solstice Excellent sludge/doom metal from Austin, TX. Very reminisce of Yob, only more use of harsh vocals. Got to catch their set for the first time last night, and they blew me away. Great band. |

Was listening to: Skinny Puppy - Bites Awesome proto-industrial music that's quite a trip. Thanks to TBIB for this recommendation. NP: Dissona - Ten Masks The 'lost' 2009 album that wasn't released until today. This is even more insane than their landmark s/t album. Daringly inaccessible prog, and I don't even know what to think yet. |

NP: Legion - Terror Illusion This was another band that played at the Unmothered gig Saturday night. Killer thrash from Houston, TX. They just keep topping themselves everytime I see them live. Asphyx - The Rack Bought my first Asphyx album the other day. Having something of a "the-slow-child-who-just-caught-up-with-the-rest-of-the-class" moment again, in terms of death metal. |

Artillery - Khomaniac One of the catchiest choruses I've ever heard on a thrash metal record. SOMEONE MUST DIE - INSANITY'S ALIVE! |
