Bluuurgh... - Circus of Filth
Quite a quaint band. But they're old school.

Anaal Nathrakh - Drug Fucking Abomination

Perhaps not as tightly coiled to the extent of material from some of the other albums, but nonetheless enjoyable.

From one of my all-time favourite black-metal albums! Fantastic stuff!

NP: A Forest of Stars - Pray Tell of the Church Fate

One of the more wierd, and more wonderful black-metal creations of 2012, I'd say.

Edge Of Sanity - 'Purgatory Afterglow'
One of my all-time favorite albums, and certainly the best melodic death metal I know. 19 years after, it hasn't aged a day. :metal: :nods:

Symphony X - Dehumanized, off Iconoclast

Iconoclast isn't precisely my favorite SX album, the reason being that the band sounds a bit too comfortable with this sound, as if they weren't really trying, and there's no progression in their formula (something which didn't happen with Paradise Lost). Still, there are quite a few awesome tunes in here. Dehumanized, for instance, is groove metal done right.

Cruachan - Shelob, from The Morrigan's Call

Someone on YouTube described this as, "The most jolly, happy and brutal, violent Folk Metal song ever," and I am quite inclined to agree with them.

I dunno about that. They do sound comfortable with the sound, but in the way that they don't feel the need to pander to an audience and include things just to please them. Iconoclast is pretty much 100% in the direction they want to go with no bullshit or compromise.

I hope you like the new album, dude. That'll be mostly what they play. You'll get An Autopsy and Xenochrist, maybe Pestilence.

Trigger the Bloodshed - "Hollow Prophecy"

Sweet, sweet modern death metal. This is my shit. Groovy, technical, dynamic tempos. Just totally overwhelming.

Yeah, I understand that this is exactl what it wanted. I just don't find it as fresh as I'd like to, Emp. It sounds a bit..... Overcooked, for the lack of a better term. I still think of it as a cool album, though I find most of the band's output to be superior to it, save for a couple of releases.

Black Sabbath - The Law Maker, off Tyr

Now this is a song from the Martin era of Sabbath that I would've liked to hear with Dio behind the mic. Tony Martin is of course awesome in it, but this sounds so much like something that Dio should sing.....

Certainly not as good as I had expected. We'll see about the rest when it comes out. The new Defeated Sanity kicks this shit's ass all over the room.

Cult Of Luna - Eternal Kingdom

Getting in the mood for the upcoming show, even though there's still two weeks left... I think I get why some people feel dismayed about this album but I honestly think it's pretty good. A bit like if it was a midpoint between the first two and the following couple, as different elements from all eras of the band emerge and collide constantly.
