Carcass - Heartwork The recent thread gave me the idea to revisit this. I love the wild untamed riffing matches these melodic leads. Killer stuff. |

Cannibal Corpse - Butchered At Birth - Vomit The Soul I have been neglecting the Barnes era material lately. Seeing Cannibal Corpse live last week reminded me how good it is. It's amaZing how in a live setting their older and rawer material goes toe to toe with all of their modern, technical, and down tuned stuff. It just solidifies how great of a band Cannibal Corpse really are and how solid their discography is. |

Sophicide - Perdition of The Sublime - The Art Of Atrocity I just stumbled across these guys. Heard 2 or 3 songs and ordered this album on line. Sophicide sound like a very promising band. This little re search I did on them is positive as well. |

Quote: Testament - Native Blood Still haven't decided as to how I feel about their latest album. Despite being fairly heavy, it reminds me most of The Ritual, albeit in a good way. Incidentally: NP: Testament - Practice what you Preach For being one of the first thrash albums I listened to, I don't listen to it enough nowadays. |

Portal: Outre.... amazingly it sounds a bit better on my laptop that really doesn't do justice to anything. I think since it sorta drops out a lot of the bass and the drums are more apparent... I enjoy it much more. |

Edge of Sanity - Crimson Yeah I drank the kool aid. This album is awesome, has taken me too long to get around to it. It's rare a song of this magnitude can actually maintain interest the whole way like this one does. |

Klabautamann - Merkur Perfect for the late evening with its smooth jazzy passages contrasting with the black metal and progressive leanings. Very good stuff! |

Coroner - Live in East Berlin 1990 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SJg4mh7moUo I was comparing these guys to metallica back to back, and live, these guys seem to dominate metallica. In the video of metallica I watched it sounded like they weren't holding it together as well as coroner. Metallica - Battery, 26.06.1988 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pjEUUxJf-9w Metallica seems to start off well, but then it sounds like they can barely hold it together. Coroner seems pretty spectacular by comparison. Coroner's just more talented I guess. |

Out of curiousity, was there a reason you were comparing them to Metallica or did you just figure to group the two together for no real specific reason? |

There's no reason I'm comparing the two besides I just thought it was interesting. |
