Listening to the whole 'Infidel Art' album by Sigh. Hadn't listened to it for a while but I still love it. Such great atmosphere.

King Crimson - Epitaph

Another productive day of realising I should have listened to bands far longer ago than I eventually got around to doing so.

Devin Townsend Project - Kingdom

The Epicloud remake. I love this album; it balances absurdly accessible pop/rock sensibilities with Devy's signature style, and I think he pulls it off with flying colours.

Nightwish - The Wayfarer

One of those songs where the first chorus is amazing, but the others are terrible. Other examples include "Necromancer" by Wildpath and "Alive" by Circus Maximus.

Nightwish - Stargazers, off Oceanborn

Loving me some Oceanborn right now. Soooooooo many hooks, and each one of them just as good or better than the last!

Dawn of Destiny - In Between

It's ridiculous how their sophomore album is far, far better than their other three.

Timor et Tremor - Eternal Woe

Just discovered this band. Really good pagan/black metal.

Blutmond - Metro Aesthetix

The preview track of their new album sounded quite good, so I decided to revisit their last effort to which I haven't listened in a while. There isn't really a quality problem, but it's just too long for my taste, I just can't listen through it until the end without getting distracted at some point. New album has the same length, so I guess this will still be the case, unless they cut the interludes.

Mortuary Drape - Secret Sudaria

You know, this album is pretty cool. It has a rotten atmosphere, a raw production/mix and does a great job in terms of creating heavy yet catchy songs. It sometimes reeks of heavy metal but has such a great use of punk beats that it never loses momentum.

Now could someone more enlightened explain to me how this album is so cool and the rest of their discography is so boring? Seriously though, All Witches Dance is just there with its cool atmosphere but is as light as a feather. Tolling 13 Knell on the other hand just drags and nothing really happens, it's that boring. And let's just forget about Buried In Time.

Seriously, I don't get it... Is it me?!

Vektor - Cosmic Cortex

Today is a Vektor day, I think. I think Outer Isolation is my favourite, at the moment.

Edit: and besides, you need something a bit sciency-sounding to listen to whiles (wrongly) calculating Pearason's correlation coefficients.

Much better. :metal: One of the better melodic metal bands these days with great vocals, cool riffs, lots of great songwriting, etc.
