Asunder & Corrupted - Live on KFJC

This is easily one of the heaviest and most devastating recordings of all time. Otherworldly.

Midnight - You Can't Stop Steel

I've had this on CD for a while, but I decided to buy the LP today, and hearing it that way has certainly added a certain ja nais se quoi to the rocking antics which spew forth.

Revocation - Bound by Desire

Great song. One of Revocation's best! The 2nd half of the song is just amazing.

Listening to To Hell with God for the first time in some months. This is damn good.

Psychotic Waltz - Halo of Thorns, off A Social Grace

A really, really unique record. Nothing quite like it, to be honest. Closest comparison would be a more psychedelic, quirkier Arch era Fates Warning.

It's one of the best albums I've ever heard, and most meaningful.

Blind Guardian - All the King's Horses

Speaking of 'one of the best', this is one of Blind Guardian's best songs ever. It's so sad and beautiful.

Sounds like it was recorded in a cardboard box. I like BM with this texture...

Suicidal Tendencies - Give it Revolution

Great freaking skate metal. Watch Danny Way's part in the DC Video which features "You Can't Bring Me Down". Perfect Combination. Can't remember what vid has "Give it Revolution" right now.

Linked Horizon - Jiyuu no Tsubasa

At times it sounds like it desperately wants to be "Guren no Yumiya"...

Queensryche - Queen of the Reich (live)

The LP of the new album sounds almost as disastrously brickwalled as the CD but the two live tracks at the end actually sound pretty good. Too bad Todd La Torre is absolutely no match for Geoff Tate in his '80s prime (certainly a damn sight better than Vest Man though).

Sun of the Blind - Skullreader

It's been a while since I've played this. As a side project from one of the Darkspace guys, this sounds like Darkspace if the production wasn't so suffocating. Pretty good atmospheric black metal - perhaps a little interchangeable with others in this genre, but nevertheless a worthy listen.

Midnight Odyssey - Secrets And Solitude

:o

This... is, insanely mesmirising and otherworldly, yet still raw and primal. In the right mood, this stuff would be a truly hefty experience. Must do some more research...

Wow.

Bloody Sign - Chaos Echoes

Death metal with riffs that would fit perfectly in a Black Metal album. I guess that makes it Blackened Death Metal?
Whatever it is, its a brilliant album, and one of my favorites from the last decade

The Breathing Process - Pantheon Unravelling, from Odyssey: (Un)dead

This was a totally blind purchase on my last eBay order from bluecollarmedia. It really hasn't been that bad of a listen so far, blackened death metal that is quite accessible. Not too shabby.

Crown of Nothing - Shadow of the Colossus

That riffing at the end puts to shame almost every other breakdown I've heard.

A new track from their forthcoming album "Waiting for the End to Come". It's not bad, but also kinda boring.

yeah I'm listening to it now. These guys have been straight-up melodeath for a while, but this takes it to a whole new level. The song in the trailer and now this tells me that these guys have pretty much crossed over completely and comfortably over into the melodeath realm.

Sentenced - Ode to the End

Sentenced have always been a more a 'songs band' than an 'albums band' for me, but I'm making my way through 'Down'. It's pretty solid, but nothing stands out to me, unlike on later albums like 'The Cold White Light' and 'The Funeral Album'. When it comes to sitting through entire albums, I've always felt that 'Shadows of Past' and 'North from Here' were about the best. Never cared for 'Amok' at all, unfortunately. Such an awkward album.

Peste Noire - Démonarque.

Now that I have turned up the bass, I can fully enjoy how great the bass guitar and drums are.

I was spinning this 24/7 this spring. Good times. Amazing stuff and the 80s cheese levels are off the charts in a good way. :-D

Holy Terror - Mind Wars

Just picked this classic up on tape. The level of intensity and pathos is just staggering, and it has one of the best thrash songs ever in "No Resurrection". Seriously, that chorus.
