Just putting on The Chasm's record "Procession to the Infraworld". I've never heard this one before, amazingly.

Evilfeast - Elegies of The Stellar Wind

How have I never heard of Evilfeast before? Absolutely amazing atmospheric black metal that manages to keep the icy black metal feel. Great guitar-work that cuts through and doesn't get buried under the keyboards and sounds. Really well done.

Cannibal Corpse - Maniacal

First Cannibal Corpse song I ever heard. Listened to it on their myspace page before I saw them on the Sounds of The Underground tour way back in 2006. Life changing.

Destruction - Curse of the Gods

Always preferred the big teutonic 4 over their US counterparts. This early Destruction track easily destroys anything done by Metallica or Megadeth, only Slayer were able to keep up. Blistering guitar work combined with some great melodies and Schmier's screeching vocals. Instant classic!

Monolord - Dear Lucifer

"Dear Lucifer, I'm sad to say I must go,
Dear Lucifer, I don't believe anymore..." :aww:

Really catchy chorus and about as close to a stoner ballad as I could hope for. Great song and great album!

Massacre - "Devouring Hour"

The bass on this track is awesome. Would've been a great song if it was polished and given the proper production as the rest of "The Second Coming". Why were they not able to release it as a proper album again?

Saxon - Thunderbolt

This is fucking great. They keep delivering. Masterful, A-grade riffage, brilliantly catchy choruses.

And... Axehammer - Windrider

Killer, snappy trad metal. In the mood for no bullshit metal right now.

Bell Witch - Mirror Reaper

Not sure this has to be so long yet, but it's pretty interesting and cool anyway. Nicely melodic guitars - kinda soothing.

Jesus christ. I can't get the game since I'm too busy working and open world games never work with my schedule, but god damn these tracks are killer, like all Dynasty Warriors games. Catchy licks and melodies, and it plays during my favorite stage and my favorite officer. Thanks Japan.

Swans - To Be Kind

Today, I realized that when I'm struggling with depression and anxiety, I immediately start binge-listening to Swans. I'm honestly not sure if I can call that healthy behavior. Anyway, I think this one is a bit more intense than The Seer, and I like that. Those brooding soundscapes seem more immersive and climactic.

Man seriously just before I saw this post I got to wondering if I should get this since I haven't skipped an entry since 3 (and the only one I flat out hated was 6) so I looked up some gameplay of my favorite, Zhou Tai. And he's... just got a regular generic sword style now? What is this awkward shit? They kept his quick-draw EX attacks but his combo string looks just like Sun Quan's now. Weeeeeak. It was bad enough when Zhang Liao lost his Blue Wyvern (though in fairness he was pretty similar to Guan Yu at that point so I sorta got it) but then they had to go and wreck the most stylish character in the series? Boooooogus.

That track was rad though. I checked a few others and I think this might be their best OST since 5, so if nothing else they at least nailed that part again.

Black Viper - Metal Blitzkrieg

From their "Storming with Vengeance" demo. God I hope these lads are cooking up an LP as we speak. This is the best speed metal I've heard since forever, almost completely pure with some small USPM flourishes. For fans of Savage Grace and Agent Steel and Savage Grace and Agent Steel.

Visigoth - Conqueror's Oath

The boys really delivered the goods with this one! Total balls to the wall, all out, no nonsense heavy metal. It's absolutely comparable in quality to The Revenant King, though it's hard to determine as of yet if it's a better album. A few dozen more listens should help with that!

Yeah, it's not as bad as people are saying, the "clones" stuff is regrettable but doesn't change anything that much(Sun Ce's tonfas are gone, etc). Every character gets their own ending, which is nice, the combos are great.

Unfortunately....the english VA's are completely revamped due to the VA strike. So no more Cao Cao's wonderful voice or anything else, all the characters are replaced, and man some of it is awful. They pause so many times for no fucking reason.
"Victory............on the battlefield is worth any....cost." It get's grating. You can switch to mandarin if you want so it's cool.

Metallica - 'Wherever I May Roam'

Decided to listen to this track on its own since the main riff is stuck in my head. Say what you will about this band or this album; but this song is excellent. Snaking, simple yet interesting and memorable riffs, one of Hammett's best lead slots (balancing the wah with actual composition and playing for longer without noodling) and one of James' last great vocal performances for a long time. It even has an atmosphere - and a slow, foreboding and epic one at that - which is a rarity for this album and most of this band's future output. It also manages to go on for nearly 7 minutes without overstaying its welcome. I don't know how this track is perceived amongst listeners so I can't say if its underrated or not but regardless, it's a gem.

'Rover, wanderer, nomad, vagabond, call me what you will.'

Oh yeah, the lyrics are cool too.

Saxon - Princess of the Night. Probably my favorite Saxon song. That chorus is divine.

Cannibal Corpse - "Compelled to Lacerate"

Cannibal Corpse has such an extensive back catalog that it's easy to overlook some great songs if you're trying to play catch up on their past releases. I got 'Gore Obsessed', listened to it probably once, ripped a digital copy to my hard drive and forgot about. Now, playing iTunes on shuffle, this song comes along - a beast of a track, one with furious riffs, frantic blasts and sick vocals. I'm compelling myself to revisit the CDs in my collection from now on.

Slayer - "213"

One of the outstanding tracks from 'Divine Intervention', an album that is arguably Slayer's last finest effort. This song works similar in framework to 'Dead Skin Mask', it has a slow to mid-tempo and continue the serial killer theme they were high on back then.

Body Count - "Evil Dick"

Totally avoided this record when it first came out because of my bias against hip hop. When a local band performed this song (thinking it was their original) I liked it. It was months later I would find out that it was from Body Count. It was only last year that I finally got a CD copy and 'Cop Killer' was omitted from that version because of the controversy behind it. Bummer.
