Brothers of Metal - Yggdrasil

This song is incredible. This band is incredible. This album is incredible. I think this is the first 2017 album that has truly blown me away.

Dark Angel - Perish in Flames

An absolute smoker of a song. I first thought this album was overrated. I should give it another chance.

Elizabeth Shaw - Ellie

This is pretty cool atmospheric black metal. Has a very astral, otherworldly feel to it. Fitting, given that they are a band that seem to be big fans of the movie Prometheus

Ha, I actually bought this album about a week ago. I like it.

Archspire - The Lucid Collective

Getting psyched for their new one, so of course I had to reinvigorate myself with this one. Really good. Can't wait to hear some more new stuff.

Panzerchrist - Battalion Beast

Feels like a battalion when you listen to this album. Plenty of riffs and the drumming is great. Makes me want to have a beer or two.

Exodus - The Toxic Waltz

Dumb lyrics aside, I'll be more than glad to thrash out to this song.

Cauldron Black Ram - Stalagmire

I think this band is severely underrated. They seem to be performing frequently, but are never really talked about.

Stalagmire and Skulduggery are great, I haven't listened to Slubberdegullion much though. They have a new album coming out next year.

Undergang - "Tvangstanker"

Stupidly heavy knuckle-dragging death metal goodness.

More black metal should be like Cauldron Black Ram - what a great band. Love those primal, sludgy-yet-razor-sharp riff attacks.

Excalion - Living Daylights

This album really just flies by like no time has passed at all. Addictively melodic, atmospheric and epic.

Brutal Assault again?

(2015) Shining - IX - Everyone, Everything, Everywhere, Ends on my way to work.
This is supposed to be better than the previous ones but I can't see why.

Esoteric - Bereft

First time with this band. Only one song in and it's a real journey.

Dark, mysterious and absolutely oppressive. Should revisit more Overkill soon.

Now that Were Dead - Metallica

I like the, oh how do I describe it, pitter-patter drum bits during the intro of the song. Reminds me of Children of the Grave. I can see how people may think its "stock" but the whole song works quite well.

Antichrist - Sign Of The Beast

Saw Antichrist destroy Knitting Factory last night (and blow Black Anvil off the stage). Amazing thrash and they nailed it live with intense manic energy.

Carcass - A Congealed Clot Of Blood

Though not an instant classic like "Heatwork", I'm of the opinion that Surgical Steel was a strong comeback album.

Venom - Raised in Hell

Loud, chaotic and out of control. That's what Venom music has been known for and it's perfectly encapsulated in this song.

Emperor - Of Blindness & Subsequent Seers

An exquisite track. Though Anthems is still the superior album, IX Equilibrium improves on its production aspect as the intricate parts of its tracks are more noticeable. This leads to a more satisfying listening experience.

Trick or Treat - United

It's a shame Tony Kakko didn't take inspiration from this for the last Sonata album.

Goatwhore - Collapse in Eternal Worth

I took a 4 year hiatus from listening to metal while I was in college and I'm just now getting back into it. Pretty stoked to discover all the music I missed out on.

Vulcain - Rock 'n' roll secours 2014.

Vulcain is a French hard rock and heavy metal band formed in 1981 by Daniel Puzio (vocals and guitar) and his brother Vincent Puzio (bass).

It's definitely a good album. I've been playing it for about a week straight.

That's one of my favorite songs off the album. It's so catchy and heavy. I was kind of "meh" about the album as a whole, initially. But over time it began to grow on me.

:np: Carcass - The Granulating Dark Satanic Mills

Probably my favorite song off Surgical Steel. If they can continue to put out albums as good as Surgical Steel then I will be very happy. :metal:

Nephasth - You Have Lost

Known about these Brazilian death metal maniacs for years, and they are extremely solid, brutal and exemplary musicians. Goddammit. Two more cds to acquire now. Great stuff here, especially if you liked Krisiun's Conquerors of Armageddon, which I do, as it's easily their best record.

Ha, I actually have their first album. Haven't heard it in ages.

Inquisition - Bloodshed Across the Empyrean Altar Beyond the Celestial Zenith

I've slept on this one for a year. Only just picked it up yesterday, so hopefully it's good. I really liked the last one, and I expect this one to be of similar quality. :)

Yeah Mikey, Nephasth really bring the riffs and power. Great band

Tardigrada - E Sturm Zieht Uf

This album has grown on me more as I've listened to it. Pretty damn good stuff here, if you like slow, atmospheric, hauntingly beautiful black metal.

Rickety, creepy-crawly Florida-death with some exciting faster parts. Always an awesome listen.
