Carcass - Reek of Putrefaction

It's an impressive release but I think I need to check out World Downfall by Terrorizer. I want to compare these two releases to each other.

There is really a lot of scandinavian folk in those melodies and there is a cool thrash/heavy metal undercurrent that pops out sometimes, i'm impressed :)

DO NOT listen (unless you're curious) to the re-recorded version of Under The Sign of Hell. It's not very good at all.

Mastodon - The Wolf Is Loose

I don't usually listen to these guys, they tend to bore me, but some of their songs are enjoyable, and this is one of them.

Ghost - Prequelle

Amazing album. Each new Ghost album has something to offer. I'm not disappointed at all.

Nargaroth - Seven Tears are Flowing to the River

Seven tears are flowing to the river
and six of 'em are mine

I don't know what that means, but it always makes me sad. It reminds me of someone close to me who has suffered much in life. No idea why.

Actually a very solid tech death album. The bass on that album is amazing.

The sound on WD is a million times better. The best grindcore album ever.

Helloween- Midnight Sun

The final two songs on Better Than Raw are absolutely amazing!

Just on the first familiar song 'Rats'. Let's see how this goes.

EDIT: And it goes well, partially at least.

Catasexual Urge Motivation - Bleeding for Spermqueen

Deliciously vile stuff. And an aside, I never really handed CUM a fair chance prior to reading some high praise for this album on this forum. Thanks Noktorn, I guess.

Funeral Storm - The Necromancer.

Top notch hellenic black metal created by veterans of that particular scene. Really strong and ancient sounding as hell.

Thankfully one of my life rules is to avoid any album with Tomas Asklund playing on it, i went straight to the original one  i'll listen a bit for fun

Townes Van Zandt - Pancho and Lefty

The lyrics are so evocative to me, it feels like i'm watching a movie

Rhapsody - The March of the Swordmaster (live)

Nearing the end of Live in Canada 2005: The Dark Secret. Though a short set, this album is awesome. I don't find the songs from Symphony of Enchanted Lands Part II go over as well, but everything from Part I, Dawn of Victory, and Power of the Dragonflame is awesome. Surprised to see no Land of Immortals here.

Setherial - In the Still of a Northern Fullmoon

"Nord..." is the only thing they've done that I like. Lots of atmosphere, massive songs. Don't know why they didn't expand upon this sound instead of becoming Dark Funeral 2.

Black Sabbath - Sign of the Southern Cross

These first two Dio albums really are just so good. Powerhouses of riffs and emotion and arcane, mysterious melody - they got it all.

Megadeth - Washington Is Next!

Sounds like Iron Maiden's "Wasted Years" in parts, but a nice tune nonetheless.

Well Megadeth's general schtick is doing things other bands have done throughout their career, so it's no surprise that song sounds like something someone else did.

Theatre of Tragedy - Commute

The Dalek vocals on this album always crack me up. This is basically a less chaotic type of song The Kovenant would do.

Tangerine Dream - Zeit

DJ Shadows - Entroducing...

Martin Bladh - Study for a Theater of Cruelty
Climax drone album, nothing interesting.

Burzum - Hvis lyset tar oss
I hate to listen Burzum again and again and again, nobody tell 'the Count' that he accidentally made the greatest album to smoke weed.

Arcturus - La Masquerade Infernale
Magnificent, just weird.

Unleash the Archers - Awakening

"Apex" is seriously one of the best modern day power metal albums I think I've ever heard. I didn't expect it to be since I wasn't too wild about their earlier material aside from a few key songs. They really honed their craft on this one and it was probably my favorite metal album of 2017, regardless of subgenre.

That fucking melody at 1:05. I can't describe it. Inspiring? Uplifting? THAT"S the shit I want.

Dream Theater - Another Hand / The Killing Hand, from Live at the Marque

You know, as much as I think Dream Theater are overrated as a band I can't deny the quality of some of their early tunes - this is surely one of their finest achievements. LaBrie sounding like he's spitting fire here. I AM THE KILLING HAND - YEAAAAAAAAAH!!!

Sarah Brightman's take on Sigur Ros' "Glosoli".

A very powerful rendition, and the English pseudo-translation of the original Icelandic lyrics is incredibly impactful.

I am literally moved to tears.

Pink Floyd - Signs of Life

Beautiful and charming. Reeks of the 80s, but I couldn't care less. It's too good.

The song you mentioned is probably the best track from Nargaroth. Herbstleyd is good though.
