Aaronsrod - Illusions Kill

Testing my new vinyls. Actually very good, melodic and catchy heavy metal.

Alkaloid - Liquid Anatomy

This album rules. Probably more progressive than the Malkuth Grimoire but better overall IMO.

Badass trad metal from Slovakia... who would have thought?

I was about to say "Eruption" but they're from Slovenia.
Signum Regis is a band from Slovakia that rules.

I'll check Signum Regis out, Andreas.

Paradise Lost - Ordinary Days

Catchy synth pop here. Can't imagine loving anytime soon, but it sort of clicks now.

Love the riffs and guitar tone. Just cuts through the mix so well.

Prog/Power metal band with a bit of shred. Try first with the song "Living Well" to make you an idea.

Sale Freux - Crèvecoeur

Nice BM band from my location, pretty bad vocals though. I've a tough time with them.

Signum Regis - Living Well

This is pretty cool, good rec man. Just me that hears a touch of Andi Deris in this guy's voice?

Thaurorod-Planet X

The vocals are killing me, like a less talented Elise Martin. Bring back the old vocalist please.

The first three Death albums are exquisite. Leprosy is way better than Spiritual Healing.

Yeah you're right he sounds a bit like Deris. But there were many singers in Signum Regis!
I really like the EP this song comes from.

Distillator/Space Chaser - Split EP 2018

Distillator part is so fucking great. Brutal thrash at its finest.

Jours Sombres - Cruaute paisible

This was recommended to me by a former admin here, Emptiness Cycle, who had a blog full of obscure black metal demos waiting to be downloaded. Super bummed out that the blog was shut down since the split this song is from is pretty damn awesome and finding obscure gems is really fun too

NP: Riot "Fire Down Under"

I had been a fan of Thundersteel and Immortal Soul and so on, but hadn't given this one nearly enough time! Such energy!

I fuckin' love Spiritual Healing, I like Leprosy a lot too but SH is the one for me. Also, I'd add Human to the exquisite pile

With regard to Sigum Regis, I plan to check them out in more detail tomorrow, but as of now it's 3am in the UK so I'm going to sleep. Also, rediscovered InnerWish today, only they weren't as good as I remembered, so that's both a plus and a minus.

That Signum Regis EP is freakin' amazing.

If you're enjoying those guys, might I suggest Sinbreed. Especially their Shadows album. It destroys many faces per listen.

A Perfect Circle - The Doomed

some crazy good cuts on the new one, too bad it doesn't hold up the whole way towards the end

Holy shit! Because of this post I now realize I don't own Leprosy for some reason. I think a trip to the store is in my near future...

Also, thanks. Haha. I really dig Spiritual Healing. Something about it just works, but now I'll have to go through Leprosy thoroughly.

Yes I agree, a really good band. Like SR but a bit heavier.

Paradox - Tales of the Weird

Preparing my next review...

Asphagor - The Delphic Throne

Love the begining of this song. I just start humming Dick Dale's before realising it's not. Gets me everytime. And then those drums kick in, instant rush.

The more i listen to the album "The Cleansing" the more I'm convinced it has all the right pieces to become a classic of modern Black Metal.

Such a good band. Aria of Vernal Tombs is one of my favorite metal albums of all time. Wish they'd put something new out.

Raw but still totally a unique band with a command of their style. Utter fucking mastery.

Winter Rose - My Time

Hmmm...I think LaBrie sounds a lot more in his element here than on any Dream Theater album. Fun hardrock stuff.

First listen?

(1996) Nokturnal Mortum - Lunar Poetry and (1997) Nokturnal Mortum - To The Gates of Blasphemous Fire (Re-Release).

 and giving the second one more listening time.

Gorgoroth - Under The Sign of Hell (full)

I kinda overlooked this album, but i'm really enjoying it

There is really a lot of scandinavian folk in those melodies and there is a cool thrash/heavy metal undercurrent that pops out sometimes, i'm impressed :)
