Root - The Mystical Words of the Wise

Really hitting the spot as we move into Halloween time. Dark and enchanting. Totally original.

P.H.O.B.O.S. - Necromegalopolis Of Coprolites

Being very satisfied with their new album, I started revisiting the old ones again. Great weird music.

Radiohead - Bloom

Jesus, I love this song so much. The vocal melody, the piano, the rhythm... It's perfect.

The Thread about 'stuff that is still in your collection, though it ain't that great' has spurred me to listen to some of the oldies gathering dust and almost forgotten. This is a good'un; can't dump this.
*sighs; gotta make some space!

Still fantastic. Can never get enough of any era of Anathema

NP: Bruce Springsteen - The River (live in New York 1999) One of the best performances of one of his best songs. Super powerful, emotional. Just a great performance all around.

Gary Moore - After The War

Absolutely classic. I loved Gary's hard rock period and this has "Blood of the Emeralds" which is just an amazing song.

Led Zeppelin - the nameless album

Was always more into Sabbath, Purple and Heep, but that was partially because I haven't really listened Zeppelin properly. Time to fix that.

I suppose you could start by calling it Led Zeppelin IV.

Iron Maiden- Deja Vu

This is probably my favorite Anathema album. It is, indeed, stunningly beautiful. Coming in at a very close second would be what I'm listening to right now...

Rage - Who Dares?

Until now, the only album I'd heard by Rage was 'Perfect Man', which didn't do much for me, largely because of the rather grating vocals. Now I'm listening to 'The Missing Link', and I'm digging this a LOT more. Peavey has toned down his vocals a bit, which normally sounds like a bad idea, but not so here. (See also: Dave Mustaine. Yeah, he sounds way less annoying now than he did when he was young.) Also, the music is just more interesting. Good stuff.

My favorite track on the album so far, which is something considering the sheer amount of winning tracks on this thing already.

Jack white has spent his entire career ripping this band off blatantly. One of the best albums of the 90s

Kreator- Hail To The Hordes

There's some fine guitar work on this album, but I'm not sure why it's hailed as a return to pure thrash form after wallowing in the Arch Enemy muck for a few albums when there's still plenty of that muck on this album.

Kreator- Suicide Terrorist

Can someone explain to me the production difference between modern Kreator and Coma of Souls to me? I understand the difference between the former and say Endless Pain, but I'm not entirely sure why one gets a pass and the other one doesn't.

Type O Negative - My Girlfriend's Girlfriend

The way he says "wow" in this song greatly entertains me. I have no idea why. That, and the song is incredibly catchy, and the bridge has an almost shoegazing quality about it.

Horna, discog
Okay, gotta keep these, too.
Good music. I guess that for these guys, the 'Second Wave' (or was it the Third? You know: the one with Emperor, Dimmu and them) didn't reach shore.
