I'm on a big Massive Attack binge today, maybe due to the over excess of metal during the past few weeks. Currently hitting Mezzanine after having listened to Blue Lines and Protection. I might go 100th Window afterwards, eh. It's one of those days where trip-hop is the best thing in the world. :)

Nice! I have those days too!

I'll probably listen to some Electric Wizard or Orange Goblin now.

Pyramaze - Year of the Phoenix, off Immortal

By far the best song this worthless band ever wrote. Really Pyramaze, what the fuck is wrong with you? You get Matt Barlow behind the mic (arguably one of the best modern power metal singers), and only manage to squeeze one good song into the entire album? Goddamnit, these guys make me angry with how much potential they wasted with Immortal, and it's made all the worse because Year of the Phoenix is a terrific tune.

Throned By Blackstorms from (1995) Immortal - Battles In The North.
This is the Immortal album that gets less listens by me.

Just listened to Emperor - In the Nightside Eclipse

It's growing on me. I still think the production sucks, and not in a good way.

Edit: About to throw on Enslaved - Isa

Great album.

Devin Townsend - Life

Spun Ziltoid earlier, now this, and I am finally understanding what all the fuss is about. This is HUGE.

Theocracy - As The World Bleeds

A perfect example of disagreeing with the message of a song, and getting wrapped up in the music every time anyway because it's fucking awesome. Still my top power metal disc of 2011.

Ah, another one has been assimilated into the vast armies of the extraterrestrial Ziltoid the Omniscient! You will soon discover that the average cup of coffee isn't good enough anymore.....

Baroness - Board up the House

This album will definitely end up in my 2012 top five.

Dead Kennedys - Insight

From the 'Give me Convenience or Give me Death' comp; a lot of their best songs wound up on this one.

I've listened to this album repeatedly since I got it, and it still hasn't gotten old. Great stuff.

ReVamp - Here's My Hell, off ReVamp

Hey, this is pretty cool. I didn't know of this particular project by Floor Jansen, but it seems like I was missing on quite a bit. Nothing extremely original, but great nonetheless.

Yeah Floor Jansen is amazing and ReVamp's debut is fantastic. I agree it is not "original" but to me what makes this something great and special is Floor's voice, she is a metal goddess. Can't wait for ReVamp's second album next year.

New album from these guys...first song kicks off quite beautifully with Running Wild-esque guitars and a big old Paragon-style chorus. Kickass shit.
