Type O Negative - Gravitational Constant: G = 6.67 × 10−8 cm−3 gm−1 sec−2

Got the CD a few days ago... just listened to it, and holy hell it gets better every single time.

Summoning - Beleriand

I needed Summoning to ground me after spending hours listening to the Absurd demos on YouTube. I like Absurd's later full-lengths, so I just wanted to have gone over the demos at least once. Unless you REALLY want to hear shittier take on their early style, I do not recommend it
:ugh:

Ah, Beleriand. The 1st Summoning song I ever heard. Good stuff!

Powerwolf - Nighttime Rebel

Their new album is gloriously fun and over-the-top power metal, and probably their best since "Bible of the Beast". The last couple were kind of boring to me but this one's definitely a step up - a bit more dynamic and a hell of a lot more memorable.

Tiamat- The Scapegoat

Johan Edlund's "death" vocals on Clouds sounds like Joe Strummer trying to sing hardcore.

Yep saw them live some years ago here in Norway.
It was AMAZING...!

Drudkh - Вічність (Eternity)

Survivor - When Seconds Count

Cool summer music. But what I really want in the middle of this insane heatwave, is to listen 'Drawing Down the Moon' again and again. The best soundtrack for this weather, IMO.

Same here at Hellfest 2010. I did miss them at Brutal Assault 2016.

Iron Maiden - Ghost Of The Navigator

I just picked up the vinyl re-issue of Brave New World. I haven't listened to the whole thing front-to-back since about 2003. Reissue sounds great. Drums are waaaaay crisper.

"Kitartás!" - Titkolt Ellenállás

This song happens to sound note for note exactly like "Death or Glory" by Holocaust right down to the solo. I even googled the lyrics to see if they bear any similarity to the original, but nah, they're your standard fare RAC lyrics. It's a cover in all but lyrics.

Stormlord-Scorn

Kind of a filler song, but holy crap that main guitar melody is incredible. I fucking love that sailing through the seas sort of feeling it gives off. I can listen to that melody for hours. Fucking amazing.

Metallica - Frantic (remastered)

Listening to the remastered version on Youtube. Even with the remaster St. Anger is still only okay (although it does sound waaay better), but even with the shitty original I have to say I have always thought that Frantic is a fucking awesome song. Great opener.

Hell yes! one of my favorites off the new album.

Just listened to it earlier today and it fucking kills; a solid step up from the last album even if they're the same kind of death metal.

Hooded Menace- Ossuarium Silhouettes Unhallowed

Evil, crushing death/doom with a little bit of eerie melody thrown around. Could use a little more of a kick from the death metal side of things, but solid stuff all the same.

Megadeth - So Far, So Good, So What

One that I believe everyone seems to miss in the Megadeth catalog. Its a poor production like a lot of early Megadeth albums, but the songs themselves are great. That was really the style anyway for early thrash albums. Spend the budget on coke and booze, whats left goes towards the production. Hook In Mouth and In My Darkest Hour are both completely amazing in themselves.

Anthem - Perfect Crawler

Definitely the best Anthem album of their current era, most of the album - like this album finale - is super reminiscent of their far superior classic era. I joke that the band should have named this song Perfect Closer since it concludes the album and Eizo Sakamoto's pronunciation of those two English words sounds closer to Closer to Crawler. Either way, fantastic song.

Storrsson - "King of the Blade" (from the newly-released debut!)

Pretty dang good, can't yet compare it with the EP. But dang, a 15 minute song. I'm really surprised this guy isn't making more waves with his high-quality epic heavy metal. Freedom We Claim was fantastic, and so far this seems no different. Maybe less immediate for me.

Vision Purple - demos. Excellent technical thrash that really needs to be reissued.

Racer X - Extreme Volume II. Such an underrated band and unfortunately only found an audience with musician types. This is great stuff that fans of Judas Priest should enjoy.

Radiohead - Street Spirit (Fade Out)

Holy shit, I've always been a huge Radiohead fan, but finally after 15 years I saw them live last Sunday. One of the most fascinating live shows I've ever seen. So glad they played this track.

Forgotten Wood - Overmotets pris

The 2nd album is now on Spotify since its 2018 re-release. Good stuff. It might be considered black metal (extreme vocals), but musically it's 99% just laid-back riffing and simple rock beats. I don't even know what genre that would be, I've seen some comment that it sounds like "depressive rock", but I'm not sure if that's a real genre haha!

Manilla Road - Metal

For HIS memory. I found this band through Morningstar's 'Kalevala Mysticism' booklet. The best find I've probably ever made.

Megadeth - Countdown to Extinction

I HATED this album when it first came out. Over the years though it actually has grown on me very much. It is now one of their top albums for me.

Manilla Road - Crystal Logic

One of those songs they did that was easily as complex, daring and bombastic as any by the "bigger" bands. They were always a true original act.

Manilla Road - "Falling"

I really warmed up to "The Blessed Curse" lately. This track is a standout. This weekend I'm doing a full MR discography listen. And I will finally get a Manilla Road tattoo, about which I've been talking for several years. Only Mark's music can help the mourning process. Feels like I'm falling...

Stratovarius - In My Line of Work

This is one of their most snappy, efficient, well put together albums actually. Like Edguy's Space Police except I like this better actually.

In the car:

Manilla Road - Voyager

Fuck, this is massive. One of the more unique, different albums from such an old band. Daring and super epic.

Absolutely! I thought I was all alone on that assessment. KIMB is another fave too. I still think that one is underrated and wish they'd play more of these songs live.

Manilla Road - The Riddle Master.

Awful fucking news about Mark Shelton. "Crystal Logic" is such an amazing album, one of the best heavy metal albums of the 80s. They had a lot of other great albums too, of course. Just a sad day... RIP.

Entombed - Wolverine Blues

My go-to song for the last week. The album itself is WAY better than the stale swedeath they played in the two albums before it
