I'm sure there are plenty of members here who have metal vests. I'm going to make my first one soon, and I'd like to see pics of any of yours.

Please post them if you have them!

I'm working on one at the moment, although it's actually a black trench coat without sleeves as opposed to the more traditional blue denim.

The main back-patch is Judas Priest "British Steel". I also have on/am putting on Immortal "Sons Of Northern Darkness", Dio, Iron Maiden, Venom "Metal Black", another Maiden, KISS and Deep Purple.

Patches are expensive!

Because of how the coat is made, I'm thinking I could fit another large patch on the side of the "tail" of the coat, possible Kreator's "Pleasure To Kill"

I have two, although only pictures of one of them. The other is more heavy/thrash oriented, and has considerably more patches. Links, since I can't be bothered resizing:

:headbang:

Those are some pretty sweet patches.

I remember having a thread where people showed off their vests. There were some pretty fucking metal vests. I need to get my own. I don't think I could pull it off though.

I'm waiting on my final patches to be shipped (Dio's Holy Diver backpatch and Exodus' Bonded by Blood) and then I will have 'em sewn on then I'm ready.

Other patches are Metallica, Obituary, Unleashed, Cannibal Corpse, Slayer, and a couple others.

I really, really need more patches... especially Death, Iced Earth, Possessed, Hellhammer, Bathory and the like.

Does anyone know of a reliable and cheap site where I can get any of the above??

It's not a vest, but I have a black army jacket with all Nightwish patches on it and I plan on getting abother army jacket and buy Norwegian Black Metal patches for it. Sadly, I do not own a camera.

If you find a way to take a picture, you really should. That sounds really badass. I like the Norwegian Black Metal idea.

The black army jacket definately sounds badass with Norwegian BM patches. Nightwish belongs on a tree-bark vest embedded with colourful flowers.

This thread is very lacking in pictures. I can't contribute any of my own, but you should all look at Gutterscream's jackets. He posted pictures of them in the picture thread, here.

They're so fucking glorious.

Hope he doesn't mind the fact that I posted them, instead of him personally. :|

No problem here, Olio. In fact, I just found the second denim vest I had done around '88/'89. Unfortunately the camera phone is in my brother's pocket who's at work. I'll post it later.

Very jealous of that Chasm patch, did you get it at a show? Haven't seen them anywhere online.

Currently on my vest is:
Blood Brains & Beer, Burzum, Cannibal Corpse, Darkthrone, Dimmu Borgir(old logo), D.R.I., Finntroll, Gospel of the Horns, Hellbastard, Metallica, Morbid Angel and Satyricon with a Nile backpatch. It's got a sort of leopard print running alongside the collar as well as Carcass and Deepen the Wound pins.

I would really like to start a new jacket even though I love this one and have had it for years. It's time is almost up though, most of the stitching I've done on it's coming apart, there isn't a spot on it that is the jackets original colour and lastly it reeks of pot. Probably will do something Crust oriented with it.

Sorry for no pics. I tried but I couldn't get a good angle with the laptop

Jesus fuck that is awesome Tantalus!

On a somewhat related note, I got a jacket cut up to put a vest together, then I heard from quite a few people that the Mad Patcher shit is garbage. Now I really am not sure where to turn, as some of the main patches I was looking for are a bit more obscure. I'm most interested in finding any place that sells Manilla Road back patches. If anyone comes across such a site please shoot me a PM or just post it up in this thread.

Cheers guys! :metal:

Unfortunately, I got the WG patch in an eBay US auction sometime last year and as it's over 90 days ago I can't find who the seller was in my feedback, otherwise I'd hook you up.

I've got a few patches, and want a few more. I'm hoping to make a vest sometime soon.

The patches I've got/getting so far include: Sepultura, Obituary, Mayhem, Bathory (Backpatch), Inepsy, Goatlord, Ares Kingdom, Toxic Holocaust, and Nunslaughter

A few patches I want to grab: Darkthrone, Venom, Death, Hellhammer, Sodom, Discharge, Archgoat, Blasphemy, Bolt Thrower, Abigail, Bludwulf, Sarcofago and whatever others.

I also have been looking into getting more releases that come with patches, especially with bands I like to have more options for patches.

Now that one, I'm not sure. I've been building that jacket up for a couple of years and there are like 30 patches, so my memory gets a little hazy! I think it's highly likely that it could have been from Hell's Headbangers though.

I've been meaning to get a vest started for some time now. I picked up that incredible 'Glen Benton for President' patch when i bought Til Death Do Us Part, and have been steadily collecting them since. I'm just not sure I could pull off the vest/jacket look though, so I've been trying to think of alternate uses for patches. Any suggestions?

I don't own one and I don't ever plan on owning one. It's pretty ridiculous when going to a local show, where half of the people in the audience are wearing these things. This is mostly only a problem at thrash shows but I would really rather not be identified with the any of the "thrash revivalists" in the bay area.

I can't take a picture of mine right now but I can tell you all the patches I have on it. It's black instead of blue btw. If this thread lasts long enough I'll take a picture.

Backpatch: Dark Funeral - Diabolis Interium album cover.
Absu - logo
Bathory - goat head
Behexen - logo
Blasphemy - logo
Burzum - Hvis Lyset Tar Oss album cover
Cannibal Corpse (2) - Tomb of the Mutilated album cover/Butchered at Birth (I've had these for almost 9 years. I used to have them on my backpack when I was in high school.)
Celestia - logo
Celtic Frost - logo
Darkthrone - logo
Destroyer 666 - Aware, Beware, War with wolf head (Shrapnel gave it to me when I saw them in 06.)
Emperor - logo
Graveland - logo
Marduk - logo with Swedish Black Metal written underneath.
Mayhem - logo
Morbid Angel - skull playing the bone flute
Mutiilation - logo
Nachtmystium - logo (Got this back maybe in 04. When I still liked them anyway.)
Nokturnal Mortum - logo
Possessed - logo
Rotting Christ - logo
Seigneur Voland - logo
Sodom - In the Sign of Evil album cover (Misprinted as "In the STOP of evil. Heh, but oh well)
Torgeist - logo
Varathron - logo
Venom - Black Metal album cover
Vlad Tepes - logo
Xasthur - logo

This jacket isn't finished yet. I plan on getting some more hopefully soon. Also I have some patches which came with die hard records like Profanatica, Atomizer and Sabbat, but I don't plan on putting them on. I like to keep all the stuff together like posters, patches etc.

I have one, with the following patches:
Hypocrisy back-patch (old logo)
Cannibal Corpse - Hammer Smashed Face
HammerFall - Glory To The Brave
Children Of Bodom - logo (yep)
Unleashed - logo (or not anymore, it's on the ass of my jeans)
Running Wild - Death Or Glory
Morbid Angel - logo
Amon Amarth - logo
Manowar - logo

And various (metallic) spikes, chains, skulls, a pentagram and stuff to make it "personal". As you can see there are very different types of bands, I've just put on bands that have given me a lot of listening pleasure over the years (I chose hammer smashed face because it's pretty much the only song from that band that's worth listening to).

Edit: I forgot I have drawn Rotten Sounds and Niles logos on it with a pen. And a Kreator-pin.

In a world where digicams cost like five bucks and everyone has a cellphone, it's weird that those lists are even necessary.
