I live in a small town now, with an absence of a music scene. Whenever I go out drinking at bars and such, all the bikers there start up a conversation about it. It's pretty neat.

I'd go to a metal show if I knew where there were any, but I just moved here not too long ago.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

I've got a BUNCH of patches picked out and ready to order, but I can't for the life of me find a plain black denim jacket or vest anywhere online.
I've checked ebay, amazon, googled it to no end, had some promising results but every time they were out of stock on L / XL and only had S and XXXL's and stuff like that.

I'm gonna try and make it to goodwill sometime this week, but I don't hold any high hopes that they'll have one. Lol

First one actually
My ex did a Triptykon one for me and it turned out really really nice. I learned from friends that the way do make stenciled patches was:

1.) stencil
2.) apply acrylic paint through the stencil
3.) wait till it dries
4.) iron over it
5.) sew

After being redirected to this thread, ill ask this lol
I'm about to order patches for my first battlejacket..Was looking at negativexistance.com (http://negative-existence.com/patches-c ... 11&sort=2a). These are all really cheap and some of them are kind of obscure. Anybody ordered from there? How is it?

Never heard of it. Want a huge variety and good prices? Try http://www.officialabyssrecords.com/. Ordered there numerous times, never had any issues. Hells Headbangers is also great as well, plus free shipping on patches and buttons!

You put Anthrax and Slipknot in the same picture. You sicken me...

Just kidding, nice vest though. I'm probably going to make one with melodic death metal and tech death and shit...

Just to let you know that all those patches looks like they're screenprinted rather than embroidered. Mostly this means that the patches will get worn out pretty fast. They are cheaper than embroidered patches, yes, but they don't look very good as they get blurry really fast.

Finally got around to getting myself a proper jacket. So far I've got a Burzum s/t backpatch plus Norwegian flag, Iron Maiden, Motorhead, Black Sabbath Vol 4, Megadeth, and Slayer patches. I ordered Overkill, Crystal Logic, Testimony of the Ancients, and Sepultura patches from Abyss Records that should come in soon, too, and I might get some pics up then.

Sewing it all is frustrating at first, but definitely worth it. After a while it kind of becomes relaxing, too, especially if you have a good book on tape or movie going.

Yeah, I figured it would be too good to be true, but that none so vile patch is really tempting. I've been told abyss is the way to go, I'll check them out some more as well as hells headbangers.

I put it on about 6-7 years ago so I'm not totally sure... probably got it on ebay or something? I haven't seen one in years though!

I rotate my backpatch every 5 years or so. Before this I had a Burzum back patch, and before that was an old Morbid Angel back patch that I bought right after Blessed Are The Sick came out -- I still have that one -- it's a wheel of goat legs with the MA logo above it :D

Mine is almost exclusively grindcore and powerviolence patches. I had an art student friend (and a punk... guess which work he did...) do some actual sewing for me and I just pin on new ones. Paid them both in beer. It looks punk as a result of the safety pins, which sucks, but whatever. And yes, I like buttons... a lot.

The one on the very bottom of the back has been removed. Deciding what to replace it with.

Back:

There are some new buttons since this was taken and some that I rotated out to a sweatshirt. Also, the patch on the bottom left has been replaced with a Floor (pre-Torche) patch. I really need to get this thing cleaned...

I was watching that same Bolt Thrower patch on ebay just a couple of weeks ago. It sold for a little over $25 USD.

I'm already quite satisfied with the BT patch that I have sewed on my vest, but I like to keep an eye open for a back up :-D.

Also, that Morbid Angel back patch sounds sick. Care to share a photo with us?

It's cool to see many Electric wizard patches. I, personally like to keep my vest simple, it looks cooler to me and you can sort of "emphasize" on the bands.

@CryptOfFear: That vest is a killer! Even if there are too many bands.

Anyone know where I might be able to find a fairly inexpensive black denim vest? (or jacket, cause I could just cut off the sleeves) I've looked on ebay and google, but haven't really found anything inexpensive.

Edit: just noticed someone asked the same question on the last page, so sorry for the repeat question.
