I'm not sure what to think. I love both of these bands but I hear Glen is terrible live. And I won't be surprised if 80% of the Vital Remains set is Dechristianize/Icons of Evil.

I think that if tickets are decently priced (I know they won't be dirt cheap) I'll check it out, if they roll into my town.

Your thoughts? Does it look good to you?
And how about those of you who have seen either band live? How was it?

I love Vital, I cant wait. and my buddy has seen Glen play twice and said the guy was a dick both times, he said the second time he put on a good show but was an asshole and the first time he just came out and obviously ddint give a f*ck about the concert.

Yes from what I understand Glen Benton's between-song banter consists of a lot of "fuck this and that" followed by...even more "fuck this and that".

Makes sense that they would play together. They sound pretty much the same these days.

Because all the good bands go to Europe and someone decided to share the love with America?

Death, good point indeed, but I have gotta say that despite Europe getting FAR superior bands, living in Winnipeg (yeah, doubt you'd heard of the place, either :p) I've seen SHITLOADS of very good bands this year, many from Europe. A taste:

In Flames, Children of Bodom, Arch Enemy, Dark Tranquility, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Finntroll, Amon Amarth, Ensiferum, Belphegor, Opeth, Evile, Dismember, and there's still a couple of bands from overseas which are playing yet before the end of the year.

Also, half-unrelated, but I thought it was kinda cool that out of the Big Three+Carcass of Melodic Death Metal, we got 3/4 bands (with Arch Enemy being the heir to Carcass) in Winnipeg this year, which was pretty cool IMO.

cheers,

If the tour makes stop in Portland, OR and the tickets are reasonable and the show is on a night I could attend then I might go.

The last couple times Vital Remains toured they were without Glenn once, and the next they were without Suzuki if I recall correctly. No fun to watch a band live when they are without their key members.

Few good bands go to Sweden.

I'd like to see Vital Remains live but Glen Benton is a retard and a horrible vocalist (even though he puts in a decent performance on Dechristanize). I thought when VR played live they had a different vocalist so I'm not really sure why the live vocalist doesn't handle vocal duties on the album. Suzuki would be awesome to see live basically because he's fucking awesome at both guitars and drums...fuck, I think it's unfair someone can be THAT good at both.

The thing is, the bands never come here....
