I remember reading something either on this forum or on Reddit about a black metal solo project which released a significant number of albums (maybe eight?) in 2015. Aside from that, all I remember was that the band picture on the Archives had him wearing corpse-paint and a black hood, and either "Satan" or "Satanism" listed, among a few others, in the lyrical themes, but those do not really help much to narrow it down in black metal. Thank you.

Good morning to all of Metal Archives,

I registered today on the site, and I would like the help of everyone.
Many years ago I had a program on the radio dedicated to extreme metal, and
a friend of mine always recorded a few songs on tape.
One day he lent me the tape and a song caught my eye, and I needed to know
the name of this band.
I'm sorry, but the sound is very squeaky because the tape is old and I
recorded the sound through the recorder of a cell phone.
Thanks if you can help, or direct where I can ask for a help.

Note: Follow the link with the song.

https://www.4shared.com/mp3/YAbMxqNWca/Black_Metal.html

Best Regards

Hey guys,

I was listening to the new WITTR album today, and it was reminding me of this band I remember listening to about a year ago and being really inspired by. I'm pretty sure they were a Russian Black/Doom band, but they could have been from some other Eastern European country, I'm not sure. I think I remember that the album cover was mostly a solid dark blue with white lettering. 10:30-11:25 in the new WITTR album I'm linking is a good example of the sound that made me think of them. I know its not a ton to go on, but if it rings a bell with anyone let me know!

Does anybody know where the samples/quotes from this version of Anathema's 2000 and Gone are from?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nnA83TOHah4

I remember I had this version of the song on MP3 before I owned the CD/Vinyl. I was surprised when listening to the full album for the first time and the samples weren't there.

Later on, I hear something from Apocalypse Now, but I can't decipher that part at the beginning.

I remember checking out a band someone recommended here and was described as something along the lines of goregrind that sounded like it was being played by dying robots or the sound of robots failing. Obviously a weird and dissonant goregrind band to some degree. Hope someone can help out as they were rad.

That description sounds kinda like what I associate with Gruesome Malady - Infected with Virulent Seed.

While that was not who I was thinking of, I am glad you posted that because it does fit the description as well! Cool stuff

I got a response on another forum with the right band. Here it is in case you are curious.

Looking for:
An either brutal deathcore or slam influenced album. cover very similar to Motorized's Dolor de Nadie (Nobody's Pain). Sun yellow with a similar beast that's maybe two headed, visible spine, bulging behind neck/jugular. could even be deathcore

a bm cover, 99% similar to Mutiilation Black Millenium (Grimly Reborn) nun, but cut up to the ribline level, minus the cross, or appears but inverted, with the white color passed through a light blue hue. hex# 9ac0cd to be specific (or close).

Might be a shot in the dark but I'm trying to find these bands.
The first one was this really bad DSBM band someone linked to on this forum in like 2008 or 2009 I think the dude that posted it asked for the band to be removed off the archive cause they were so bad, the vocals sounded like a granny being raped infact I'm sure 3 of the youtube comments said that. The band was from Denmark, the demo came out in like 2004 or something and the song or demo was called Varg. The upload had their logo in black on a white background iirc.
The guitar was literally like:
Image
The drums were like at the start of Dunkelheit except completely out of time.

The second band I'm trying to find was this slam/pornogrind band from Manchester or Middlesborough maybe some place in the UK beginning with M from around 2006, they said they were too lazy to record a demo but they had a load of songs on myspace I think their band name had 'Anal' in and that's how I found them.
One of their songs had an intro like "Hi my name is Sam-fhajfasARRGHHH"
They did a few christmas songs too like one had an intro where the dude was giving his granddad a present but he goes apeshit or some shit.
Vocals were like gutturals, pig squeels and like that high pitched goregrind style raspy shriek.
Their demo cover had a Japanese woman getting her teeth brushed with shit, that image has been spread across the image a lot and used to be on drewpickles.com but it's been a very long time since I've heard this band.

Another one was this cybergrind band on myspace their gimmick was like it was based on like old people and the vocals were literally just text to speech engines like Speakonia, one of the songs was about nailing a little boy's dick to a car exhaust and driving off. I think this band also had christmas songs IIRC.

I'm looking for a thrash or death/thrash album from around 1989 (might be few years off) whose cover is a drawing that is centered on a man whose head is being forcibly held down, maybe in the literal "a boot stamping on a human face" way or something similar. The cover is in black and grey, or at least predominantly in black and grey. It has some reviews on the site so it's not very obscure.

EDIT: Found it, it's Infected - Dark Century

Anyone knows about this band? What band is? Maybe is from late '90s or early '00. I heard it from an old tape. No more info. Greetings.

Anyone remember that Spanish or Italian black metal band who were total garbage? It was a one man project. The guy changed it's name and made it Christian black metal sometime in 2012 or 2013. Anyone know the band I'm talking about?

Thanks. Oddly enough the awful promos he took lingered on in my mind, even after the name faded.

I overheard a song being played over the PA at a show recently and I am wracking my brain trying to figure out who did it. The only clues I can think of:

Some lyrics may start with "I am".

The main riff sounds almost exactly the riff at 0:55 of White Slavery by Type O Negative: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-QuK17lSvDo

The song was doomy but a lot faster than the Type O Negative song. The vocals were also different, I didn't hear Peter Steele.

Shot in the dark here, but it's been bugging me....

Found this bandcamp project a couple years ago, and I think their shtick was mixing indie rock, surf rock, poppy music, at times beach boys-like choruses (? I think ?) with "black metal." Sounds terrible I know, funny thing is, I don't remember much of the music so I can't comment on it. What stuck with me mostly was their aesthetic. A lot of the EPs/album covers were like pictures of suburbia (houses and suburban neighborhoods), the bands name was long, might have been a full sentence and was written in almost like a bubbly cursive font if I remember correctly....

They're most definitely not on the archives.... Any help is appreciated, thank you.

EDIT: After searching off and on for the last couple days I found them almost seconds after making this post.... Figures.
The band was The Apache Revolver. Looks like I got a few details right and a few not so right....
https://theapacherevolver.bandcamp.com/

EDIT #2: Huh, apparently they are on the archives. Was not expecting that....

I'm trying to remember this Japanese folk metal band. It had a name that was a pun of Korpiklaani, something like *****klaani and I think it was an anime arrange cover band. Does anybody know what this band was called?

I've been looking for a black metal band I saw recommended on here a while back, they were pretty happy sounding and the name was kind of complicated and I think it began with an S. Not much to go on but if anyone could help I'd greatly appreciate it!

If you can provide more info it would be easier.
Which subgenre of black metal? Raw? Folk black? dsbm?
Was the name one word only starting with "s" or were there more?
Was it Svarti Loghin? Was it Sataninchen?

Hi all. Ok, so this might be a shot in the dark but I have a black metal song stuck in my head that I heard on a local radio show in 1996 or 1997. I had recorded it onto a blank tape back then but I don't have the tape anymore.

All I can remember is it had a mid paced, catchy, and melodic main riff and the words "raging winter" or "raving winter". It is NOT the Satanic Warmaster song. The song I'm thinking of 100% came out in the 1990's. This is all I remember :-/ I want to hear this song so bad again.

Any help is appreciated! Thank you!

Nah, it's not this song. The one I'm thinking of is more mid paced and melodic. It's tremolo picked but just not as chaotic as Immortal from what I remember. Thank you though!!!

There is a death metal album that was well received on here a few years back. The album has one song on it something like "The triumphant entry of the (insert whatever) king" on it"... the album art itself I wish I could find better words to describe but it basically looks like an eagle sitting on top of a throne (almost like Reign in Blood looks--but the eagle is the main focus on this album) and a lot of orange and red. I think for some reason it has something in the title (either the band or the album) like "Summoning" in it. It's a killer of a rare gem, also.

Any help in tracking this down would be appreciated and I apologize in advance for vagueness.

Sup guys! This song driving me crazy. I heard it in 2007-2010 years, but I can't google it.
The track(With no words) was with pretty dark atmospheric, it was pre-night, and 3/4 of track was forest ambient, but then the WERWOLF HOWLS, and song got it drives, the acoustic guitar went into action, dispersing a song.

Hey folk,

There was an album with minimalist red and white cover art I remember liking. It popped up in a "worst cover arts" tread but when I went back to looks the image was either deleted or I was looking in the wrong threads. I think it was black metal and from a relatively well known band. The thing on the cover looked like a Cacodemon from Doom. Anyone know the album I'm talking about. Thanks in advance.

hi to all. Please, help to identify the band/song. Sounds very acquainted, symphonic stuff with growl and operatic vocals, but sadly still no ideas:

Really very good song, but sadly unknown. Looks like well-known band

Hi all! I'm trying to remember a grind/hardcore band that released an album with a rose or some kind of flower on the cover and the album title was 3 words, each word written with a period like a sentence? It's a pretty well-known and well-regarded band but I'm drawing a total blank. I believe the album was rereleased in 2017 as a clear vinyl with flowers pressed in it but don't quote me on that. The entire album is like 10-12 minutes long. thanks!

A few years ago, I found this death metal band with winter-y lyrical themes. It wasn't like atmospheric or experimental; it was normal death metal, save for the lyrics (and I guess the tempo was a bit slower than usual). Their name had SOMETHING to do with winter. I THINK it had "Tundra" in it but I'm not 100% sure.

They had a song that was literally just about climbing a mountain. It mentioned strapping on snow boots, etc. They released a split album with some other band (though I think the 2nd band played some other genre, more like black metal?) and I'm almost certain this mountain-climbing song was on that split.

They 110% definitely used to be on the Archives -- both bands were -- but I can't find them for the life of me, not even on V1. By some stretch of the imagination does anyone recognize this band?
