Post subject:  Black metal lyrics

Hi.

For a little research for the university I'm looking for black metal lyrics, to see how 'satanic' and 'evil' these really are. A lot of lyrics can be found, but if you can help me find a site where I can download or see for example all the lyrics of one particular band at once (so without clicking on every single track to see those lyrics) I would be really grateful.
I need lyrics from at least 100 albums. And is there anyone who knows where to find the Gorgoroth lyrics? Any tips are welcome.

Thanks

There's a tip:
Gorgoroth are not satanic. They are gay.

They are considered to be black, so I too will consider them as black.

I think that Gorgoroth was the band that refused to release their lyrics to the public, so I don't think you'll find them :(

Haha, okay.

To the OP:
Just search various bands on this website. You can look at their lyrics if you click the links to their albums.
And Gorgoroth don't allow their lyrics to be posted anywhere on the internet.

But it's not like they write satanic lyrics anyway... because they are after all, gay.

Not being bothered to click on the lyrics for individual tracks seems rather lazy, it not like it takes alot of effort or time.

I don't care, I'm not doing a University paper on the Satanic value of Black Metal lyrics.

Choose a band. You'll see their discography and the songs for those albums. Click on one song, and you'll get all lyrics for the entire album. At least this way you get an entire album's lyrics without having to click on each song.

I was refering to the original poster, but it does seem like a rather odd topic for a university paper.

I do make this paper and I can tell you that if you need at least a hundred albums, each of them containing let's say 8 / 9 tracks it takes some time. But if that's the only way to do it, I will do it that way.

I already knew darklyrics.com, I'm using it at the moment, but thanks anyway

The course I'm following is a linguistic course, where we study texts to see if we encounter specific words in specific contests. In this particular case I have to make a corpus of a lot of lyrics and then make a frequency list, to see what kind of words are used the most and to draw a conclusion after that.

There are better more devout and interesting satanic lyrics out there.. why don't you use some Altar of Perversion.. in particular "The Wisdom of Evil"

"The wisdom of evil
I sensed breathing the darkness
Of the dimensionless abyss
The place of non-existence

Until I saw the horns
By whose sign I denied
The triple illusion of man
And slayed its three symbols

I inverted the paths
The steep one of them
Is that of the two faced king
And the one which I walk

Ancient goatsteps on the soil
His mark on the gate to the kingly path's end
Goatsteps lead into timeless chaos
I'll return with the wisdom of the shadows

The crossing of these paths hides a threshold
Which is guarded by two horned beasts

In truth they are one beast
And their magickal number
Is that of the King of the abyss
The crossroad is named "DEATH"

Darkness and silence obsess
The oldest entities older than time
Chaos their son slays the mind
And in DEATH lies magickal wisdom

I will kill what I called myself
and wear your mark as my eye
And wear your horns as my crown
I return, goatsteps behind my
steps..."

or Necromantia's Les Litanies de Satan from Crossing The Fiery Path

"O thou, of Angels loveliest, most wise,
O God betrayed by fate, deprived of praise,

(O Prince of exile, who was dispossessed,
Who ever rises stronger when oppressed,)

O thou who knowest all, Hell's sovereign,
Known healer of mankind's afflictions,

(Thou who the lepers and pariahs doomed)
Show out of love the Paradise to come,

(Thou who in Death, your mistress old and strong,)
Breeds Hope - delightful aberration!

(Thou who dost give the outlaw the proud glance)
Which damns the crowd who watch his sufferance,

Thou whose clear eye knows (the deep sepulchres)
(Where multitudes of metals lie interred,)

Thou who by magic softens the old bones
(Ofloitering drinks by horses trampled down,)

Thou who, consoling frail mankind in pain,
(Taught us to make our guns and gun-cotton,)

(Thou who put into women's) hearts and eyes
The cult of wounds, the love of poverty,

Father to those whom in his sombre wrath
God drove from his Paradise on earth,

Thou who didst set thy mark, (accomplice skilled,)

(Staff of the exile and discoverer,)

To thee, o Satan, glory be, and praise,
In Heaven, once thy kingdom, the abyss
Of Hell, where now, thou dreamest silently!
Grant that my soul, one day, beneath the Tree
Of Knowledge, may rest near thee

Show out of love the Paradise to come,

(Thou who in Death, your mistress old and strong,
Breeds Hope - delightful aberration!)

Thou who dost give the outlaw the proud glance
Which damns the crowd who watch his sufferance,

To thee, o Satan
To thee, o Satan
To thee, o Satan
To thee, o Satan

Father to those whom in his sombre wrath
God drove from his Paradise on earth,

Thou who didst set thy mark, (accomplice skilled,)

(Staff of the exile and discoverer,)

To thee, o Satan

Thou who didst set thy mark, accomplice skilled,
Upon the heart of Croesus harsh and vile,

Staff of the exile and discoverer,
Confessor of condemned conspirator,

Thou who dost know where greedy earth enfolds

Satan, have mercy on my long distress!
Satan, have mercy on my long distress!
Satan, have mercy on my long distress!
Satan, have mercy on my long distress!

To thee, o Satan, glory be, and praise,
In Heaven, once thy kingdom, the abyss
Of Hell, where now, thou dreamest silently!
Grant that my soul, one day, beneath the Tree
Of Knowledge, may rest near thee,
Like a new Temple, its wide branches spread!"

Also check out Negative Plane's lyrics from their track Advent Of The Beast:

"When the day is done and the shadows are long
you can feel the weight of His eyes
when the clouds gather to hide the sun
you will hear His voice calling on the wind

For He is real
He who was begotten and not made

All was revealed in a prophet's dream
The face of the Beast with ten horns and seven heads
who pulled a third of the stars down from the sky

For He is real
and He has existed for immeasurable time
He walks between the spaces and watches
from behind the veil of the sky
waiting for the Day of Wrath,
the Judgement of the Living and the Dead

When the signs are right and the stars are aligned
the gates will reopen and He will come through the void
from the dark unknown places of the smoky black Abyss
Life and death will be as one
as it was in the beginning
Ever a world without end

See the world is living in His shadow
All that was written has now come to pass
The time of doubt has come to an end
The Eye of Horus opens at last
As it was in the beginning and ever shall be"

I can't help you with websites I"m afraid, but I must suggest that you investigate the lyrics of both Root and Mystifier. It sounds as if you are doing more of a quantitative study of some kind, but I believe these two bands write some of the best satanic lyrics you will find anywhere.

Good call on Root, I was thinking of mentioning them but I am glad someone did!

Mystifier is also a good call, especially the first 2 albums for lyrics.

Of course.
They are gay posers :P.

Kruel, I'm just kidding about Gaahl's sexual interests.
Nothing to do with their music (which I find sucky, but it's my personal opinion).

Saaaaaaaaaaatan!!!!

Oh, in that case I see what you mean about gayness. But Gaahl is an asshole who doesn't have anything to do with the real Gorgoroth anymore, Infernus has the legitimate right to the name.

I have an acquaintance that met Gaahl at Wacken, and he said he had a young raver looking boyfriend wearing pink that was sitting on his lap and making out with him while they were all hanging out. That pretty much seals it in my eyes.

You want satanic lyrics? Check out Inquisition from Colombia. These guys really, really, really love the dark lord.

"Before The Symbol Of Satan We Vow And Praise"

Praise the symbol of Satan's might, bow before the darkest light
Hold the torch and chant with pride, as the bells chime tonight we rise

Dancing in shadows, casting dark spells where the holy ones hide
Mystical fire, shining on the altar of the ancient king
Enter the cult, follow the ways of the left hand path
Trample on the cross, praise the pentagram and all Hail Satan

Bray the horns of shining bronze, songs for rites on full moon nights
Far in lonesome woodland realms stands the temple of the cult

Dancing in shadows, casting dark spells where the holy ones hide
Mystical fire, shining on the altar of the ancient king
Enter the cult, follow the ways of the left hand path
Trample on the cross, praise the pentagram and all Hail Satan

On the darkest mountain peaks where the black winds carry me...
There I stand and sing this hymn to the sounds of infernal bells

And as someone else said, Deathspell Omega. Here is the song Sola Fide I.

O Satan, I acknowledge you as the Great Destroyer of the Universe.
All that has been created you will corrupt and destroy.
Exercise upon me all your rights.
I spit on Christ’s redemption and to it I shall renounce.
My life is yours Lord, let me be your herald and executioner.
My actions shall lead other hearts away from salvation
All shall acknowledge Your sacred royalty and crawl in terrified devotion.

Where is the book of truth, or the inheritance that’d enlighten me?
No voice shall answer to my probe and throbbing prayers...
But certainty and madness write in ashen letters

Seest thou how faith wrought with his works
And by works was faith made perfect?

And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and He in him.
And hereby we know that He abideth in us, by the Spirit which He hath given us.

"The essence of Revelation lies in the fact that it is the direct speech of god to man"
