Hell

Almost every collector has a "kill or die for" wantlist. How much would be the highest price (buy/trade) for your top wanted item? If you own it, for how much would you sell it?

Seriously!

Like :

Flames of Hell LP, Bathory (yellow goat), Chronic Decay & Exanthema split CD, the Japanese version of Stryper's Yellow and Black Attack, first press Magnus (Pol) CDs, Sororicide CD, Rottrevore CD, Warloghe or Moonblod LPs, Last Descendants CD, Calhoun Conquer CD, I.N.C. CDs, Despair : History of hate CD, Accused - Return of Martha Splatterhead CD, Morbid Saint CD, Militia (US) - The Sybling LP, PARADOXX Plan of Attak LP, Angel Dust : Into the Dark Past CD, Target : Master Project Genesis CD, Usurper (Hol) - Divine Spiritual And Intellectual Development CD, Anacrusis : Suffering Hour CD, and those many others. You can name them as well!

Thanks to P2P programs, I can keep both my right arm and my right nut and still have an opportunity to hear obscure demos by Brazilian NSBM bands limited to 14 copies.

Seconded

Though if I had to purchase some disc to listen to, it would never top $50, that's just absurd, unless it's so super rare that Abbath breathed on it, then sure, maybe I'd bump up my limit.

If the album is limited to 14 copies, you'd have a hard time finding it on p2p ;)

Not if they're all pirates.

yeah, I really wouldnt spend any money on a rare album, it'll sound the same if I download it, and I'll save money

If it is unpiratable, and guaranteed to be good(not necessarily very, very magnificently great), and extremely rare, then I might pay up to $50.

The most I've ever dropped for a hard-to-get item was about 40 AUD. I don't think I'd like to go any higher than that for a single item.

I saw a copy of a Nagaroth box (forgot which release) that was going for 666 USD.

In this expensive box of wonder you get: a Copy of whatever record it was. A typed and signed note from Kanwulf, A Nargaroth shirt with a specialized Kanwulf Cum Stain, and every copy comes with a personal posession of Kanwulf's (in this one, there was his pet birds left foot, which he apparently cut off while he was still alive.)

Ridiculous.

I kid not. I shat bricks.

EDIT: Ahaa! It's still up! And he lowered the price proving that humans aren't stupid enough to buy it yet. There is still hope.

Edit your links.

I was a little bit wrong in what came in the box, you get the 2LPs of the release, and a CD copy of the same release. And you get a DVD. Whoop de do. Still not worth the price. At all.

What makes it 'specialized', exactly?

I remember seeing that on ebay. Who the fuck would want a shirt with Kanwulf's cum on it? I would surely not!

I spent quite a few bucks on some rare demos, and vinyls. Nothing more than 250 USD. That is my limit.

There's a lot of stuff I may throw a lot of money down for.

That particular item, I would pay people to destroy.

No, I meant how do you specialize a cum stain? Comes in a variety of colours?

Also, why would he give this guy a shirt with his jizz on it? That's a little more than friendly...

Don't quote screen-stretching links.

I laughed my ass off at this.

The only ultra rare cd Id buy is one from Nekro Pervertor, limited to 50 copies. Otherwise Blospot and Slsk come in handy.

Maybe someone should add it to the archives. Just make sure you include with a cum stain in the additional notes. :lol:

I think I just actually found the most someone has spent on a release. This is the same box as we were talking about before, but 14 people bid on this one and it ended up at 970$! WTF

This one came with Kanwulf's Wedding ring. I can understand someone wanting a gold ring, but why not just buy the gold ring?!?!?

I am never going on ebay again! Metal heads are damn cut throat on that site.

Most I ever spent on a CD was like..230NOK on a signed copy of Diabolical Fullmoon Mysticism. I spent around 200 NOK for a Nokturnal Mortum original print demo...thats it I think.

I once bid up to €35 on the Sort Vokter CD, and up to €40 on the Thorns vs Emperor limited 2CD edition, in both cases I lost the auction.

One time, I think I offered a friend of mine up to €100 for Godkiller's "The Warlord" demo. He's still sitting on it, greedy four-eyed jew. :P

My usual price limit for a rarity is $40-50. The most I've ever spent was $200 on a pristine copy of Utumno's "Across the Horizon." Ordinarily I would never even consider spending that much on a single disc no matter how rare, but that particular release is one of my very favorite death metal albums, and my second favorite Swedish death album (after "Ever-Flowing Stream"); and I was just dying to own a physical copy of it. I pull it off the rack and fondle it every few days just to get my money's worth. :drool: The gap between that and the second-most I've ever spent is quite a lot... I think the second-most I've spent was $75.

(Thank jeebus I have a decent job, no kids, and no serious financial obligations.)

As for me,I am really a lucky person.I rather wait for a good offer than to bid so high for a particular cd..

Like For Example:
Rottrevore - Iniquitous-------->got this for 15 euros in a bm distro---Cost about USD225 on ebay

Expulsion - A bitter twist of fate---->got this for about 10usd----Seldom on Ebay so i do not know its value..

Epitaph- Seeming Salvation----> 65usd on ebay-----Highest i have seen is 255 usd

Sadistic Intent 2 MCDs----->Traded against a normal cd from a distro--Usually about 50 euros each i think

Merciless-The Awakening(DSP)--->Also traded a regular cd for it..--->120 euros??

So be patient and not pay absurd money for it!

I had a Bathory yellow goat that I sold to an American for $250. I know it's worth more, but seeing as it cost me about 10, I felt that was all I could take without feeling guilty. I always get the feeling that people who'll pay 1000's for rarities have some sort of mental problem. The whole point with 'investing' should be that you get the occasional bargain that appreciates in value.

I wouldn't pay more than $40.00 for anything, unless it's a boxset of some kind, or DVD box, etc.

The most I've ever payed was 170USD for Mayhem's De Mysteriis deluxe edition LP.

I've sold a few LPs for around 300-400 though, and I only payed like 30 for them.

i have my Morbid Saint's Spectrum of Death that i played 100 usd for. i'm thinking about framing it, but would that make me a loser?

I don't have the collector mentality, so I'm fine with downloading something that's hopelessly rare if I really need to hear it. I think I've once or twice spent $30 US on an import but that was back in the mid 90s when MP3s really weren't known yet.

I once sold a freakin' Wall of Voodoo CD for $132 to some dude in Los Angeles, who then wanted to sell it back to me for $100 after he got it in the mail. I'm not sure why I had that CD in the first place and why I admitted to having it on this forum. Man...I'm in trouble now.

I've spent loads of money over the years for rarities. There's just something very thrilling and fulfilling about owning an actual copy of something rare from a band you love. Some people are satisfied with MP3s, but I never am unless it's something that was never pressed to CD to begin with.

I would only give a lot of money for Lycanthropy's Spell releases. (Reminds me that I'm glad I have the original Rabe album, how much money would that be worth?).
