No idea what they were called, but I remember there was a very bad/funny photo of a Czech (?) black metal band where they were all in corpse paint and shirtless, including the female member who possessed tits that can probably be best described as "mournful".

That would be Enochian. Ex-member Kate "Devil" Lilith has the "mournful" picture on her artist page. Their current photo is also pretty priceless. Even the file itself seems corrupted, as if it couldn't handle the cringe!

The right one is funny but don't underestimate this guy. He had the best metal voice of the 80s. Feelings of Fury is the best pure heavy metal album!

A lot of great funny photos here, but I wonder if you guys could find examples of unironically great artist photoshoots that look professionally well-done by the standards of their time or how they conveyed the music they played?

Sounds like it might be time for a new thread.

I had a Rage for Order vinyl and for quite some time thought that the promo pictures in the sleeve just don't do justice to the fantastic music. I know it's the 80s, but still.

They look like if the Lost Boys were a visual kei band

some like even on cover are inbetween "what is it a joke/parody?" and "these guys are really serious right?" just like the one by Destructor for example, I bought it for the fun but the music was quite good, I mean better than it looks

They look....very...1986.

Height of the glam rock era. Sure, Queensryche were heavier and more serious than the average glam band but, that was just the times they were living in. There were hundreds of bands out at the time who looked and dressed like this. Look at photos of, for example, Dokken from this same time period.
